It is the only one which still remains. The historic sports field which predates the neighbouring Comely Bank and Fettes developments, is home to the Edinburgh Academical Football and Cricket Clubs. The EA Football Club, formed in 857, is the oldest rugby football club in Scotland and the second oldest in the world. In 870 the first international rugby match was played here, between Scotland and England.
