BUS NETWORK Brampton Transit services all regions of the city providing unparalleled connectivity for residents and visitors. The fleet consists of 376 buses which includes 98 buses that are part of the Züm BRT network. With a mix of 40 and 60 lengths, buses provide seating capacity ranging from 37 to a high of 56. Fleet Innovations & Features Two hour transfer time Passengers are given ample time to navigate the system to reach their destination. This increases the amount of time riders are using the system and therefore the amount of time exposed to advertisements. Transfers even work between regular and Züm buses. Real-time Next Bus Information Bus users have the ability to time their commutes with advanced precision, thanks to the ability to key in a bus stop number and receive timing updates online, by email, text or phone. That means less time waiting around, and more time on actual vehicles and in transit. RAPID TRANSIT Züm (pronounced Zoom) is Brampton Transit s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service, and was conceived out of the desire to improve transportation options within Canada s fourth-fastest growing city. With similarities to rail transportation, the BRT solution uses world class technologies to provide better and faster ways to connect people and places. Züm Routes: Züm Queen Street (Downtown Terminal to York University) Züm Main Street (Sandalwood Parkway to the Mississauga City Centre Terminal) Züm Steeles Avenue (Brampton Gateway Terminal to Humber College) Züm Bovaird Drive (Mount Pleasant GO Station to Queen Street/Goreway Drive) Phase II additions include service along Steeles Avenue to the Lisgar GO Station in Mississauga in 2015, and along Queen Street to the Mount Pleasant GO Station in 2016. ROUTES Notable Ridership Increases: The BRT boasts a significantly high influx of new users - an increase currently at 23%.
