This year, the event was exclusively B2B and there was a significant increase in exhibitors. The exhibition demonstrated the noticeable buoyancy and positive attitude of everyone on the tourism market. Representatives of the tourism industry mentioned that the B2B format enabled them to hold meetings with partners, intensive discussions and close deals. Russian Pavilion The development of domestic and inbound tourism plays a significant role at the show. Attracting thousands of Russian and international tour operators, MITT identifies the potential for inbound and domestic tourism and acts as a real window for tourism opportunities in Russia. In 2017, more than 60 Russian regions and resorts from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka presented their tourism potential. The Russian Pavilion occupied one of the largest halls at Expocentre and drew a great deal of attention from industry professionals. This year, first time exhibitors included the regions of Buryatia, Bashkortostan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Orlov, Voronezh, Chuvashia, and Primorsky Krai. Tourism opportunities in Crimea were particularly well presented at MITT 2017, both inbound companies and hotels, as well as all major tour operators working in Crimea. Exhibitors in the Russian Pavilion at MITT 2017 included: Sochi and three major resorts in Krasnaya Polyana Gorky Gorod, Roza Khutor, and PGSC Gazprom mountain and tourism centre. It was great that we only saw relevant visitors this year the new B2B format meant we had a very productive time. Over two days we managed to meet all our partners, both Russian and international companies who come to Moscow year after year specifically for MITT. Post Show Report 2017 Business Programme 14 March The MITT Digital IT conference Technology in Practice took place for the first time at MITT 2017, co-organised with TRN media holding. More than 300 industry professionals took part in the conference. The MITT-Region panel discussion The Russian Tourism Product From Idea to Tourist was aimed at finding effective ways of cooperation within the tour business with regional tourist administrations. 15 March The MITT Summit Hotel session for hoteliers The hotel business in Russia 2017: new trends, technologies and knowledge brought together more than 450 company managers in the hotel sector. The round table New tourism legislation, initial practical use featured speakers such as Olga Yarilova, Director of the Department of Tourism and Regional Policies of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation; Alexandr Osaulenko, Director of the Turpomoshch agency; and Heads of insurance company ERV and legal agency Persona Grata. The Development of Resorts in Russia: strategy, practice, promotion conference was opened by Oleg Safonov, Director of the Federal Agency on Tourism. Conference speakers included Sergey Shpilko, President of PCT; Alexandr Razumov, President of National Resort Association; and Igor Fomin, Member of the Committee of the Federal Council on Social Policy. Consultations were held for representatives of tour businesses on preparing and promoting the FIFA World Cup 2018 and a series of presentations of the tourism opportunities in host cities were given. 16 March The MITT Academy educational programme went down well for representatives of tourism agencies.
