Gently downhill, mostly supported by a tailwind, you are experiencing the impressive river as it meanders in the Donauschlinge ("Great Loop") and enjoying the gorgeous landscape of the legendary Wachau with its castles and fortresses. Then Vienna, rich in architecture, a firework of places of interests! A city, hard to describe you have to see and feel it! Sights are easy to reach during a wonderful sightseeing tour by bike. You can also relax in any of the cosy cafés or in a typical Viennese wine tavern. After a great day of cycling, relax on board listening to live music or discover the port city. Tour Profile The cycle route is completely flat, at times on a gentle downhill slope, and is ideal for bikers with less experience and children. The tour is rated easy on mostly flat terrain. Excellent service and attention to detail are the priority of the captain and crew who are looking forward to welcoming you on board. Your bike tour through various countries is also a culinary expedition through the diversity of national and the regional cuisine. The ship offers a restaurant, a panorama bar with a dance floor, a salon with a sunny patio as well as a broad sun deck with comfortable deck chairs. Books and magazines from our library provide reading pleasure and parlour games offer all kinds of disport. After an eventful cycling day you will find relaxation in the sauna. In the evening a musician will perform for you to dance! ITINERARY Day 1: Passau Engelhartszell Boarding time at 5 p.m. Located at the confluence of three rivers, the Danube, Inn and Ilz, Passauhas a number of interesting sites. Use your free time and stroll through the cobblestoned old centre, listen tothe bells of Passau s Gothic Town Hall or visit the world s largest Catholic Church organ in the cathedral. At 6.30 p.m. cast off! Day 2: Great Loop, approx. 41 km The cycle begins with a ride through the classic scenery of the Great Loop Donauschlinge - one of the most beautiful sections of the Danube. On your way you will encounter tiny villages and cosy cider taverns. In Austria s only Trappist monastery in Engelhartszell you can taste their delicious liquors and cheese. The famous Schlogener View provides a wonderful view of the surrounding Austrian countryside. The boat expects all cyclist back on board in the charming market of Aschach. Day 3: Devin Bratislava, approx. 18-49 km You pedal along the former Iron Curtain, cross the green line and reach the imposing Imperial Palace of Hof with its beautifully terraced gardens. Follow the bike path through Austria s vegetable garden to the coronation city of Bratislava at the slopes of the Little Carpathians and discover the hidden alleyways and sights of Bratislava on an optional city tour. Day 4: Budapest Szentendre, approx. 40 km The entrance to Budapest, Hungary's capital is stunning. Savour the beauty of Buda and Pest during a coach tour or a guided bike tour (optional) that reveals all the highlights of this handsome city. You can also choose to cycle to the charming town of Szentendre with its mediterranean atmosphere and lively art scene. You will get a very close experience of Hungarian culture at an evening show with traditional music and dance (optional). Day 5: Danube bend Esztergom, approx. 41 km The wooded hills of Pilis, Visegrád and Börzsöny together with the meandering Danube create a wonderful landscape that has become nature lovers' paradise. Amidst the Danube River, the idyllic isle of Szentendreexudes exhibits silent Puszta Romance. You cycle via the baroque village of Vác (influenced by the architects of Austria s empress Maria Theresia) to the bishop town of Esztergom with its gorgeous basilica Hungary s largest Catholic Church. Day 6: Vienna (day of rest) Discover Vienna's most beautiful attractions. During a city tour by bike or bus (optional) you will experience Vienna s most famous examples of architecture: the imperial Hofburg, St. Stephens Cathedral, the gorgeous Ring -boulevard with the State Opera House, the Burgtheater and town hall, as well as the colorful "Hundertwasserhaus". Relaxation is on offer in the famous Viennese cafés, the evening ends impressively at a classical concert (optional) in one of Vienna s most famous palaces. Day 7: Wachau Rossatz Melk, approx. 29-42 km Your last biking day is a special highlight! A powerful ruin looms above the small Baroque town of Durnstein, while the blue spire of the monastery church is a landmark of the renowned Wachau. Amidst dreamy towns, apricot trees, vineyards and castles, this hilly landscape enchants everybody. You will be biking on cloud nine! In Weißenkirchen

After the Captain s farewell dinner, lots of fun and entertainment can be experienced during a crew show. Day 8: Passau Enjoy the first sunbeams and the peaceful silence of the Danube Valley on deck. Take a last sight at the Schlögener Schlinge ("Great Loop") before you arrive relaxed at Passau. Disembarkation is at approx. 11 a.m. We recommend arranging connecting trips from 11:30 a.m. onwards.
