Bloomingdale Park District Summer Camp is full of arts and crafts, outdoor time, group games, exciting trips and more. Participants relax and cool off at The Oasis Water Park on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (weather permitting) and spend Wednesdays on field trips. summer camp Camp Champion (Grades 3rd-5th) & Top Dog (Grades 6th-9th) Camp Champion is filled with sports, sports, more sports and active games. From football to baseball, soccer, softball, golf and more, campers spend the summer exploring different sports. Campers begin each day with stretching and running to loosen up. Following warmups, camp begins the sport(s) that are scheduled for that day. Camp may visit other park district locations depending on the sport. Following lunch, Camp Champion visits The Oasis Water Park to cool off. Please note fees are higher due to specialized equipment, staff and field trips. Hang out with the big dogs in Top Dog Adventure Camp. Campers experience a variety of field trips Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to water parks, museums, bowling lanes, and more. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, campers may take walking field trips (weather permitting) to the Bloomingdale Public Library, Westlake Park and nearby restaurants. Top Doggers also enjoy relaxation time at The Oasis Water Park, as well as group and individual games and activities throughout the week. summer camp Summer Camp Notes: Grade is based on what level your child is entering for the 2018-19 school year. To receive the early bird rate, you must pay the week/days in full before the Monday at least two weeks before your child attends. You must specify which days of the week your child is attending if you select the choose your days option. There is a required 3-business day processing period before your child may start attending. Hot Lunch will be available on Fridays, vendors will be listed on calendars. Campers wanting to participate in Hot Lunch must complete the order form 1 week prior. Deadline will be the Friday prior at 4 p.m. No exceptions. Summer Camp located at Westfield Middle School/Gymnasium 5

summer camp (2nd-5th graders) 8:30AM - 12:00PM Uniquely U is an exciting and different half-day summer camp! Uniquely U features 9 weeks of specialized programming to challenge your child while having fun throughout. Each week features a new theme with the entire camp structured around that theme. The camp consists of field trips, guest instructors, unique activities and a whole new way to think about summer camp. There is an extension option for each week if you would like your camper to stay for lunch and swimming each day and to be picked up at 3:30 p.m. instead of noon. Calendars are available now at the Johnston Recreation Center and online at www.bloomingdaleparks.org. We will accommodate you. Simply sign them up in the desired Uniquely U camp, and the other weeks can be filled in Mouse Hole, Lion s Den or Camp Champion. Fee Structure: $140/$160 per week (R/NR) Extended Camp (12-3:30PM): $60/$70 per week (R/NR) IMPORTANT NOTE: Participants may only sign up for the week. There is no daily option for this camp. summer camp June 11-15: Mad Science Come make things pop, fizz, explode and more! Each day will be filled with different science experiments that are sure to have you talking when you go home! This week will also include a field trip! June 18-22: Service Week This is a week to be grateful and give back to those in need. We will do 5 different service projects during the week, some will be field trips! We will also each make a grateful book to take home! June 25-29: Aspiring Artist Come explore with many different formats of art! We will make multiple projects that campers will take home! This is sure to be a week that will get your creative juices flowing! July 2-6: Cooking Week Come hungry, leave full! We will explore the world of cooking, visit a restaurant kitchen, shop at a farmer s market, and make our own recipe books to take home at the end of the week. July 9-13: Animal Adventures Join us for a week of animal antics! We will have an in-house field trip with some animal visitors and take a field trip to Brookfield Zoo! Along with animal crafts, games and activities this is sure to be an amazing week! July 16-20: Outdoor Explorers Come check out the outdoors with us! This week includes a field trip to the Morton Arboretum and Spring Hill Nature Center. We will also do some nature crafts and activities. July 23-27: Around the World Take a trip around the world with us as we explore different countries along with their cultures, food and more! We will design our own passports to update as we travel around the world. July 29-August 3: Picnics and Playgrounds We are the experts so trust us! We will visit some of the top playgrounds within driving distance. You get to explore all the different playgrounds and then have a picnic lunch at each location. Bring a lunch on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we will provide lunch on Tuesday and Thursday! August 6-August 10: Water Week Let s splash around! We will go to a different water park each day. For this week of camp, all participants must sign up for the extension as we will not be done by noon each day. 7

summer camp Sunrise/Sunset Extended Care Need a little extra help? Extended Care is a great option for working parents, parents who need an extra break, or campers who cannot get enough of camp! Games and activities are provided. All attendees are escorted to and from Sunrise/Sunset Extended Care by camp counselors. A snack is provided in the PM session. Attendees must be pre-registered and purchase a punch card or membership prior to attending. Punch cards are on an automatic charge system. Parents/guardians must provide a credit card number and your card will be charged each time your punches run out. Unused punches are credited to your household account at the end of the summer, providing there are no pending fees on your account. Youth Enrichment Series Camps Junior Lifeguard Camp Interested in lifeguarding but not quite old enough? This camp is designed to give 11- to 14-year-olds a sneak peek into what it takes to become a lifeguard. Camp is directed by certified Oasis Water Park staff. Campers experience hands-on training and drills while testing their skills in various scenarios. Camp content includes: An introduction to first aid, CPR and AED Lifeguarding Standards Water Rescue Techniques Responding to an emergency Swimming Endurance & Physical Fitness The reasons for rules (Safety Awareness) Lifeguard Games (Skills Competition with Oasis staff) Teamwork and leadership Prerequisites Skills: Participants must be proficient swimmers with the following prerequisites being met. Campers are tested the first day. Youth Enrichment Series Camps Chicago Bulls Camp This summer, learn from the best and let the Chicago Bulls teach you essential basketball fundamentals including ball handling, passing, shooting, rebounding, individual moves, footwork and team concepts. On the final day, all participants receive an evaluation form and graduation certificate. Student-to-instructor ratio is 10:1 or less. Each camp participant, along with one guest, are invited to the United Center for a Q&A session with a Bulls personality and current and/or former Bulls player! During the camp, each player competes in the Bulls Skills Competition. At the end of the summer, the top three contestants compete in the finals on the floor of the United Center. Each camper receives a Chicago Bulls duffel bag, Bulls indoor/outdoor basketball, T-shirt, evaluation report and graduation certificate. The Chicago Bulls Summer Camp is offered to two age groups, 6-8 and 9-12. Younger campers build fundamentals and partake in fun drills. Older campers work on team concepts and refine and advance their skills.
