Dear Pilot: It is with great pleasure that we invite you to fly with us in our 2008 festival: The 26 th Annual Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning July 25 27, 2008 Solberg Airport Readington, New Jersey As always, the festival features twice-daily mass ascensions of up to 125 hot air balloons, a Saturday evening balloon glow, major concerts, fireworks, non-stop family entertainment, and hundreds of crafters and vendors. We provide propane, a complimentary pilot hotel room (for pilots traveling over thirty (30) miles), pre-flight meals for pilots and crew, a Friday evening pilot party, pilot gifts, up to $15,000 in prize money and other pilot incentives. There are a few items to note before filling out your application: NEW DEPOSIT POLICY: We will not ask you to submit a deposit this year. Instead, please provide us with a credit card number to hold your spot. YOUR CARD WILL NOT BE CHARGED unless you cancel within two (2) weeks of the festival, fail to fulfill your sponsor ride obligation or fail to adhere to festival guidelines. Should any one of those occur, your card may be charged for your hotel room costs and/or propane used. If you have any questions about this new policy, please don t hesitate to call or send an email. Upon receipt of your application in the festival offices, you will be assigned a pilot number. This number will be your place in line for rides. Therefore, the first application received will be the first in line to be assigned passengers, and the last application will be the last in line. Registering early will secure your place in the front of the line! All pilots not requiring a hotel room (i.e., those within thirty (30) miles of the festival) will have their sponsor ride obligation reduced from two (2) to one (1). Once your application is received, you will be sent an email confirmation. Should you not receive an email within ten (10) days of submitting your application, please call or email to verify that we received it. Most communication in advance of the festival will be via email, so please be sure to provide an accurate email address that is checked regularly. To secure a spot in the 2008 Quick Chek New Jersey Festival of Ballooning, please fill out the attached application and pilot information sheet, and send them back to the festival office along with a copy of your insurance and a photo of your balloon. (If you submitted a photo and information sheet in 2007 and all of the information remains the same, you do not need to resubmit them.) Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, concerns and suggestions; your feedback is very important to the success of our event! For more information, check out our website at www.balloonfestival.com. I may be reached via phone at (973) 882-5464 or email smazzocchi@balloonfestival.com. I look forward to hearing from you! Enjoy the holiday season. Gentle Breezes and Soft Landings, Sally Mazzocchi Festival Director
