The restoration preserved the historical concept of a Baltic manor as an independent economical unit and developed Vihula Manor into a full service resort, a cultural centre and an important tourist attraction. The buildings of the estate have, one by one, been painstakingly restored with the utmost care for retaining the historical authenticity of each building and of the estate as a whole. The restoration has combined historical ambience with a daring design.
