Harrison is experienced in the development of sensitive sites and in the integration of historic buildings with new extensions and additions to create viable, characterful spaces. The team is equally at home developing exclusively new build hotels on green or brownfield sites, as standalones or part of mixed use schemes. Bringing its own blend of professional and management expertise, Harrison delivers value to all those involved in schemes development, often on difficult sites where others see no scope for reward. So many of Harrison s flagship schemes deliver real community benefit, and the company has established a strong reputation for its consultative approach to the development process in the interests of all stakeholders. The team is always keen to talk to others who have a development need or who wish to realise the optimum value of their land or property assets. An enthusiasm to lead at every stage of the planning and development phases, then to work with a range of construction partners to ensure cost-effective, on time, high quality delivery makes Harrison the perfect development partner. 5 Hotels Hotel du Vin, Stratford-upon-Avon Hotel du Vin, Stratford-upon-Avon Hotels 6 Retaining Georgian splendour Hotel du Vin, Stratford-upon-Avon Hotel du Vin s ambitions for a Stratford presence required a landmark characterful building to reflect its individual boutique hotel style. Stratford Town Trust had a vision for the sensitive but effective regeneration of the Rother Street area of the historic Warwickshire town. Key to their aspiration was the retention and reuse of a pair of underutilised Grade II listed three storey Georgian town houses. Harrison brought together the Trust and the brand-leading hotel and bistro chain, providing a new and sustainable future for the site and meeting Hotel du Vin s brief. The new hotel is central to the revitalisation of the Rother Street area. The Trust has been looking for a way to enhance the area, making the most of the beautiful buildings, independent businesses and bustling marketplace. This development will certainly go a long way towards rejuvenating Rother Street and will be a great addition to Stratford. - Helen Munro Chief Executive of Stratford Town Trust The skill lay in combining the need to blend the heritage buildings with a new facility which had sufficient scale to be commercially viable but which would retain the important features of the impressive town houses. Imaginative design flexibility, extensive and effective public consultation and close co-operation with the planning and heritage teams in Stratford have resulted in the creation of an impressive hotel which includes 48 luxurious bedrooms, bistro, meeting and private dining rooms as well as a separate banqueting room.

17 Hotels Buchan House, Edinburgh High profile history Buchan House, Edinburgh Harrison s expertise in taking run down or at risk historic buildings and giving them new life and purpose is finely demonstrated in the scheme to provide a new hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. Buchan House comprises two Grade A listed classic Georgian town houses, the oldest in Edinburgh s New Town dating from 1771 and fronting onto St Andrew Square. The properties have strong historical and cultural links to the city, having been home to artists, philanthropists, politicians and architects. They survived the threat of demolition in the 1890s and were most recently used as modern offices but had fallen into disuse and remained empty for two years before Harrison acquired the site. Early dialogue with the planners ensured a thorough understanding of the city s own aspirations for the historic building and, working closely with a locally based team of architects and engineers, Harrison explored ways in which the complex multi-levelled structure, on a sloping site, could best be transformed. The result is a striking conversion which reverses many of the unsympathetic modern interventions whilst retaining, restoring and reinstating original features. Once completed it will provide high quality space, offering 72 en suite bedrooms, restaurant, bar, coffee lounge and private dining facilities with lift access to all floors. The conception and delivery of such a complex and challenging scheme in so high profile a location requires exactly the kind of vision, expertise and disciplined management for which Harrison has established its impressive reputation.
