The Torrens Gorge is a natural chasm carved out of the Adelaide Hills by the River Torrens. Start your wine tasting experience by visiting smaller wineries such as Schild Estate which was written about in Wine Spectator as one of the new and up and coming wineries of the Barossa, or visit Trevor Jones Kellermeister, who combine a mixture of old and new world wine styles. Travel over the Jacobs Creek to visit some small wineries with rustic charm, making wines in traditional Barossa methods, such as Rockfords and Charlie Melton. Stop for a stroll in the German town of Tanunda with time to discover the shops, many of which specialise in local crafts. Before lunch enjoy a picturesque drive up to Menglers Hill for unsurpassed views over the entire Valley and then continue into historic Angaston. Visit Angas Park, specialising in fine dried fruits, or the local cheese maker who has won many awards for their farm cheeses. Lunch will be alfresco under the vines or at Vintners restaurant just out of Angaston. For those more seriously into wine the next stop could be Henschkes winery in Keyneton, a fifth generation German winery producing outstanding wines that incorporate the best of old world and state of the art winemaking. Alternatively visit historic Yalumba, the biggest family run winery in Australia. If time permits, visit small boutique producers such as Torbreck, Veritas or Two Hands. Private tours may include formal premium wine tasting at Penfolds, Make Your Own Blend or Grange Tasting (additional cost). A visit to Maggie Beer Farm shop is a must for food lovers or you may continue through the picturesque villages of Hills enroute to the German Village of Hahndorf and taste the fine wines produced by Hahndorf Hill winery. Note: Tours are personally escorted and the itinerary may change to accommodate special interest or seasonal highlights. (Henschkes is closed Sundays). Day 6 Adelaide to Kangaroo Island Bensons Limousines, Adelaide Hotel to Airport Please meet your Bensons Limousines driver in the hotel lobby for your transfer to Adelaide Airport. If for any reason you need to contact Bensons Limousines, please call (08) 8362 0655 during business hours or 0413 732 235 outside of business hours. Exceptional Kangaroo Island, Adelaide Kangaroo Island InStyle 2D/2N Air/Air Stranraer Homestead Start: Saturday End: Monday Tour Code: WLTW1516STR Inclusions: Return flights Adelaide - Kingscote (Kangaroo Island), 2 full days of share touring, 1 night's dinner, All admission fees and on island transfers Fly from Adelaide Airport to Kingscote Airport (Kangaroo Island) where you will be met by your tour guide. Have a cup of tea with some home-made cakes before taking a walk down a country track through tall Eucalyptus trees where koalas snooze overhead, or perhaps wake briefly for a feed.

Travel through some of the Island s best farming country to the north coast. At Lathami Conservation Park walk quietly through the bush with your guide - what makes that noise, who s tracks are those, and who left THAT little pile there? Look for wallabies which are almost extinct on the mainland, and a kangaroo found only on Kangaroo Island. Break for lunch and enjoy a delicious meal featuring King George whiting (local sea fish), fresh salads and fine South Australian wines at a private bush location. At Seal Bay Conservation Park walk with your guide among Australian sealions on a beautiful sandy beach. Watch pups nursing, or playing in the surf, see old bulls bearing the scars of territorial disputes and learn about their unique breeding biology. The remainder of the afternoon is spent exploring more of the south east region of the Island with destinations and experiences chosen to reflect seasonal opportunities. Then arrive and check-in to your accommodation for the night. Note: Above touring is on a shared basis and based on the 'Island Life' tour on the first day of touring and the 'Flinders Chase Focus' itinerary for the second day. This order may be reversed on request but is dependent on availability. Day 7 Kangaroo Island This full day share tour explores some of Kangaroo Island s highlights and lesser known backtracks of Flinders Chase National Park - a wilderness covering nearly 200,000 acres. It is home to a wide array of wildlife species such as kangaroos, wallabies, possums, goannas, echidnas, koalas, platypus and many birds including rare Cape Barren Geese. In addition to the wildlife habitat the park also protects important geological features and cultural heritage sites. The drive down to Cape du Couedic takes in some dramatic dune country with a complex fire history and an interesting range of vegetation types. The road alignment follows the original horse trail between the ranger station and the lighthouse settlement on the tip of the peninsula. At Cape du Couedic visit a fur seal colony which now number over 50,000 after being decimated by hunting in the early 1800 s. These animals can be observed at rest on the rocks or frolicking in the surf under Admirals Arch - a spectacular coastal grotto. On the headland above is a beautiful stone lighthouse where three light keepers and their families lived, maintaining a warning for ships. With no road access until 1940 life was tough - supplies came by sea only every 3 months. Another impressive stone structure had a different architect. The Remarkable Rocks, huge natural granite sculptures, have been carved by relentless winds, rain and salt from the Southern Ocean. The end result looks like a meeting of the minds of Henri Moore and Salvador Dali! Good wines and local produce features highly on the picnic lunch menu which you can enjoy out in the bush before exploring more of the Island. Depending upon the season, the afternoon might include a visit to Grassdale in the heart of Kelly Hill Conservation Park, the secluded pools of the Rocky River or a rugged South Coast cove. You will be met by your guide and will be transported to Kingscote Airport for your return flight to Adelaide. Note: Above touring is on a shared basis and based on the 'Island Life' tour on the first day of touring and the 'Flinders Chase Focus' itinerary for the second day. This order may be reversed on request but is dependent on availability. Day 8 Kangaroo Island to Sydney
