Cambodia and the Khmer Kingdoms December and January are ideal months for a visit to Cambodia, the rainy season is all but over and the weather is warm and sunny. The countryside still looks green and lush from the rainy season and water levels in rivers and lakes are still high enough meaning boat trips are possible. Tulum has a sub-tropical climate, which means it's almost always warm. February and March are good months to visit since the weather s predominantly dry and not too hot. Peru and the Inca Heartlands May to September is the dry season in the mountain highlands near Cusco and Machu Picchu with dry, hot days and clear, cold nights. The countryside is exceptionally lush at this time of year - green grass, blooming flowers and clear Andean views create a magical backdrop to this energetic mountain retreat. The Inti Raymi festival is celebrated annually on 24 June in Cusco. There is Cathar history in abundance, Carcassonne castle to see, and right on our doorstep is the mysterious Rennes le Chateau of Da Vinci fame, which we will visit during the week.
