Toasting the sunset is a Northern Territory rite, and the best ways involve a cold drink and a chat with the locals. Pull up a chair at a waterfront bar, around a desert campfire or on the verandah of a colourful outback pub. Darwin, the NT s tropical capital, is a fun, youthful and multicultural city. Most of Darwin s nightlife is centred around Mitchell Street, with bars, open-air pubs and cool cafes all within easy reach. Wander down to the Ski Club right on the water s edge for sunset and catch some chilled beats while the sun sinks into the ocean. There s a great live music scene in Darwin.
