DAY 1 [First Half] PLAYBOOK Day tracks and the evening program are casual and may include a possible hike (less than a mile), so comfortable jeans/shorts and hiking/athletic shoes are encouraged. We will not be going back to the hotel between programs this day. (June weather in Ohio may be unpredictable. Be prepared for temperature variations and rain). Start the day with an optional wake up activity, followed by breakfast with a brief orientation of Stark Parks to get your game face on. Visit Stark Parks educational facility and see how a budding partnership with our local library quickly turned into a unique community asset, offering a campus of nature and learning. Some of our most valuable community programs have come from thinking outside the box and complimenting our services with our partners. From joining forces with local universities for off campus credits to a first-of-its-kind bike share program - we ve learned, grown and provided exceptional programming without duplicating services. Participants will then get a chance to brainstorm about topics like concessions, technology, safety, and volunteering. Everyone will also get a chance to tour our wildlife rehabilitation center construction site, operations and public safety headquarters, and get a glimpse of one of our educational wetland trails. Travel back in time with us as you tour one of the few remaining working historical mills. See how the parks have maintained operations with tax payers in mind. Portions of this tour may not be accessible. Alternative tours will be available. End the day at Fry Family Park with a good ol fashioned pig roast. We ll have a candid discussion on park standards and some of the challenges we ve overcome creating - and maintaining - them. 5 4 3 2 1
