By-law for Permanent Stop Up and Closure of Portion of Shannon Drive M 2017/05/15-95 Nick Duivenvoorden moved that the following Resolution regarding permanent stop up and closure of a portion of Shannon Drive be adopted, seconded by Lilliane Carmichael. Motion carried. (3 yeas Councillor s Carmichael, Culligan & Duivenvoorden) (2 nays Councillor s Arseneault & Killoran) COUNCIL RESOLUTION TO STOP UP AND CLOSE ANY, OR ANY PORTION OF ANY, HIGHWAY WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY Subject: CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF SHANNON DRIVE WHEREAS the Municipal Council intends to adopt a by-law for the permanent stop up and closure of a portion of Shannon Drive the land as follows WHEREAS subsection 187(6) of the Municipalities Act prescribes that Council shall: (a) fix a time and place for the consideration of objections to the by-law, (b) publish a notice of its intention to consider the passing of such by-law in a newspaper published or having general circulation in the municipality once a week for at least two consecutive weeks preceding the time fixed under paragraph (a), BE IT RESOLVED (a) That Council accepts that a public hearing be scheduled on June 19, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber to hear and consider objections and comments relating to the proposed By-Law number 2017-01 entitled A by-law to stop-up and close a portion of Shannon Drive which aims the permanent closure of a portion of Shannon Drive as shown on the plan placed in Schedule A. (b) That the Municipal Clerk, acting on behalf of the Council, see that the public notices prescribed in subsection 187(6) of the Municipalities Act are published in the newspaper indicating the time and date of the public hearing. Belledune Volunteer Fire Dept. - Policies & Procedures Amended Adoption of Policies & Procedures M 2017/05/15-96 Tracy Culligan moved that the Belledune Volunteer Fire Dept. Policies and Procedures be adopted as amended and presented, seconded by Lilliane Carmichael. Motion carried. Motions & Resolutions: NB Fire Chief Convention - Fredericton May 26-28, 2017 M 2017/05/15-97 Nick Duivenvoorden moved that Fire Chief Keith Legacy be approved to attend the NB Fire Chief Convention from May 26-28, 2017 in Fredericton, seconded by Lilliane Carmichael. Murphy & Sons Trucking Ltd. be awarded the Culligan Slip Installation & Removal - Invitational RFQ 2017-02 for the amount of $ 2,400 plus HST, seconded by Lilliane Carmichael. Motion carried. Award of Invitational RFQ 2017 Street Grading Bidder R. Murphy & Sons Trucking Ltd. - $14,700 plus HST Bidder Woodcox Trucking - $12,000.06 plus HST M 2017/05/15-99 Sandenn Killoran moved that the lowest bidder, Woodcox trucking be awarded the RFQ 2017 Street Grading for the amount of $12,000.06 plus HST, seconded by Lilliane Carmichael. NB Trail Council Inc. - Trail Sponsor Program M 2017/05/15-101 Tracy Culligan moved that Belledune become a member of NB Trail Council Inc. - Trail Sponsor Program for a membership fee of $250, seconded by Nick Duivenvoorden. Motion carried. Atlantic Tractor & Equipment Ltd. - Generator Service Agreement M 2017/05/15-103 Nick Duivenvoorden moved that Belledune Council accepts the Industrial/E.P.G. Engine Preventative Maintenance Service Agreement (1 Year) with Atlantic Tractor & Equipment Inc. for the Generator for the amount of $1,735 (plus HST), seconded by Lilliane Carmichael.
