the site Aviation Crossing is a 100,000 square foot mixed use development located at the hightraffic intersection of McKnight Boulevard & Aviation Boulevard in Calgary s NE quadrant. It has immediate access to Calgary s largest freeway, Highway 2, as well as McKnight Boulevard, and will be a destination for those commuting to and from the Calgary International Airport. Aviation Crossing s proximity makes it an easy 15 minute commute to Calgary s downtown core. McKnight Boulevard is the only innercity east-west connection between the east Ring Road/Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail.

the exposure Vehicular Traffic Volume Aviation Crossing has a location ideal for capturing the vehicle-oriented traffic that surrounds it. The three major roads that access the site cumulatively see on average 260,000 vehicles per day broken down into: 22,000 vehicles per day on Aviation Boulevard 75,000 vehicles per day on McKnight Boulevard 163,000 vehicles per day on Deerfoot Trail The site is also accessible by public transit. Bus route 69 (Deerfoot Centre) connects Aviation Crossing with Calgary s Downtown Centre and route 32 (Huntington/Sunridge) connects residential communities in the city s NE. The City of Calgary has recently deployed the McKnight Boulevard Transportation Study, in recognition of this roadway s high volume. It is a city planning study of McKnight Boulevard from Deerfoot to Stoney Trail N. Of the 250 respondents: 97% used McKnight Boulevard 86% worked near the immediate area 40% lived near the roadway Importantly, 90% traveled daily on the roadway (as opposed to weekly etc.) and 84% of the respondents used the roadway to travel to and from work.
