Activities Water Orbs ~ swimming pool Nearly walking on water, but not quite. Climbing Harnessed ascension of a giant outdoor climbing wall Jacobs Ladder Physical activity : climbing 10 wooden rungs. Requires teamwork and communication in smaller groups Bell Boat whole group activity in a very stable bell bottom boat. Introduces children to the water Rafting ~ river Group raft building and sailing activity Dragon Boat Team boating activity requiring good group work and coordination

Health and Safety Duty Manger on duty all night Instructors sleep at the site All instructors First Aid trained Our own RGS First Aider will also be present for the duration Life vests are worn for all water based activities Non-swimmers can participate in all activities Children will be encouraged to participate in all activities
Emergency Plan Emergency at home Please contact Ruislip Gardens school office during working hours (7:30am to 5pm) Necessary arrangements made in liaison with relevant parties
Prior to Departure Any prescribed travel sickness medication must be administered at home prior to departure All suitcases/bags and sleeping bags must be clearly labelled with the child s name and room allocation Leave bags/cases and sleeping bags in downstairs hall Only ONE small case or bag per pupil No refreshments required for the journey Children to class at usual time Parents to wait in downstairs hall.

Programme : Depart just after registration on Wednesday 20 th May 2015. Parents can wave the coach off at around 9:30am First activity at 1:15pm on Wednesday at Longridge Activities all day on Thursday Activities on Friday morning to end at 12:30pm, followed by lunch Return to school, expected arrival time around 2:30pm. Parents can wait in downstairs hall to collect children Cases/sleeping bags to be collected from the front of the bike pod when leaving
Packing Notes The weather may be changeable so layers of thinner clothing are important Only provide sun-hats, shorts and T shirts if weather is predicted to be particularly fine Children will still feel cold if carrying out water-based activities in fine weather At least 3 changes of clothes are required as water-based activities may wet clothing Soft-soled shoes : plimsolls for boating and trainers for other activities (at least 2 pairs) Please label ALL items
Packing : General No jeans : comfortable leggings or tracksuit bottoms only Warm fleece top T-shirts Long sleeve tops Shorts Thick and thin socks Waterproof jacket Waterproof trousers (if you have them) Swimwear in line with school guidelines
Packing : Sundry Items 2 towels (bath and hand towel) Sun Cream SPF 30+ Own toiletries in wash-bag (shampoo, soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, shower gel, hair brush and bands, 3 x small tissue packs) Large plastic refuse bag for laundry Underwear Pyjama wear and sensible slippers Sleeping bag
Packing Dos and Don ts NO mobile phones jewellery (no watches or earrings) other technological gadgets : e.g. gaming items or tablets etc. aerosols hairdryers or straighteners etc. money cameras Crocs or flip flops food or snacks or sweets YES children to carry own bag labelled reusable water bottle reading book (games will be provided) cuddly toy!
Sleeping Arrangements Small groups of children (4s or 6s) will sleep in each room Rooms will be allocated prior to departure Bunk beds are in place with bottom sheets and a pillow En-suite bathroom facilities available to each room. Sleeping bag MUST be provided, no duvets
Food Continental breakfast each day Sandwich lunch every day Dinner : spaghetti bolognaise/quorn meatballs, chicken pasta bake/vegetarian pasta bake Food allergies and dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian) are catered for Food preferences (likes/dislikes) cannot be catered for
Consent Outdoor activity consent Emergency medical treatment consent Administration of Calpol and Piriton as required. All medication administration is logged and shared with parents upon return Children applying own suncream SPF30+ (own labelled bottle) If insect repellent is required/provided, must be roll-on Any additional medication (e.g. travel sickness) must be noted on signed medication form available tonight Confirmation that tetanus is up to date Asthmatics to provide brown inhaler by Friday 8 th May 2015. Blue inhalers taken from school stock. Administration recorded and shared upon return
