Essential Information 2018 CELEBRATING OUR 114 th SEASON SHORT 3-WEEK DAY CAMP OPTION Tuesday, July 31, 2018 Saturday, August 18, 2018 Application 2018 DAY CAMP OVERVIEW opens its vast overnight camping program to a limited number of Day Campers, ages 6-14, each summer All aspects of the overnight program, including all activities and trips are open to Day Campers while they are at Pok-O- MacCready DAY CAMP TUITION AND SCHEDULE Tuition for the short 3-week day camp session is $2,050 Day campers are integrated fully into all aspects of the program when they are present Day camp runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday Friday (*Note The Day Camp session begins on a Tuesday) If arriving by car, campers should be dropped off and picked up at these times See Transportation section for details on camp-provided van transportation Day campers may participate in any overnight trip or evening activity for an additional $50/night fee Included in tuition for first time campers is an invitation to stay overnight in a cabin for the final week of camp, beginning on Sunday, August 12, 2018 Returning campers can take advantage of this option for an additional $300 Other additional fees are horseback riding, which costs $300, and is offered every activity day Riding is billed at the end of the summer Please see our Terms of Enrollment on Page 4 for details on what is and is not included in tuition WHAT TO BRING EACH DAY Each day, day campers should bring: 1 small backpack 1 waterbottle 1 waterproof raincoat 1 towel 1 bathing suit 1 extra set of clothes 1 pr sneakers, 1 pr sandals 1 fleece or sweater 1 pr socks (no cotton) Weather-appropriate clothing for the day Any equipment needed for chosen activities (eg tennis racquet or hockey stick) Make sure that everything you send to camp is labeled with the camper s name in permanent ink Riding boots and a riding helmet are recommended for riders Campers interested in any type of wilderness trips should bring at least two 1-liter water bottles ( Nalgene or similar) or a 70 to 100-oz waterpack on the day of the trip Cameras, athletic equipment, fishing gear, and musical instruments may also be included if desired Day campers will have space in a cabin in which to store clothes or equipment overnight if desired TRANSPORTATION TO CAMP SCHEDULE Camp will provide transportation to and from Plattsburgh, NY, Keeseville, NY, from Tuesday, July 31 Friday, August 10, 2018 Parents will be responsible for providing transportation the last week if their children are not staying overnight Parents from nearby communities not on these routes will need to provide their own transportation for the entire session Please choose your preference on Page 4 of the application The following times and locations are subject to change and will be confirmed before the start of the session PLATTSBURGH: Melissa Penfield Park Morning Pickup: 7:45 AM Afternoon Drop-off: 6:15 PM KEESEVILLE: exit 34 Mobile Station Morning Pickup: 8:20 AM Afternoon Drop-off: 5:15 PM TURN PAGE FOR 2018 APPLICATION

By CAR Some parents choose to drop off and pick up their children by car In order to reach camp by car from the south, continue North on Rt 22 3 miles past the village of Willsboro At the log cabin on the left, take a left on Reber Road at the Pok-O- MacCready sign To reach camp from the North, take exit 33 off I-87, proceed 5 miles south on Rt 22, and turn right onto Reber Road when you see the log cabin and sign Camp is one mile down on the right Drop-off / Pick-up location and times: Junior Ball Field, in front of Dining Hall at 8:30 am and 5:00 pm ***EXCEPTIONS PLEASE READ Any deviation from the transportation details or schedule details outlined in this information packet must be cleared, in advance, through the Admissions Director, Sarah Disney Occasionally, additional fees may apply ACCREDITATION are fully accredited by the American Camp Association Visit their website (wwwacacampsorg) for more information on their discerning standards We meet all standards required by the New York State Department of Health Their Saranac Lake office has our health record on file OTHER MAILINGS In April and May, all parents will receive final mailings from the directors The mailings include all the materials you will need for final preparations for camp, including health forms Much of the information will pertain only to overnight campers, but may be of interest to you VISITING CAMP If you plan to visit camp during the summer, we prefer that you arrange to visit on Visiting Day held on August 11, 2018 It is a wonderful chance for parents to meet the directors and the senior staff, as well as see the grounds and allow campers to show off their work and accomplishments HEALTH CARE In addition to our three camp RNs, the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is only 25 minutes away in Plattsburgh, NY, and there is always a doctor on call at the Smith House Health Care Center three miles away in Willsboro CAMPER CORRESPONDENCE Our website (wwwpokomaccom) will host daily updates about camp throughout the summer, which is a great way to stay up to date on the goings on at camp The most traditional way to get in touch with campers is by US Mail Our business email address is not available for communication with campers; however, an e- mail service is available during the summer for parents to contact campers More information about this will be sent in the June 1 st mailing REFUND POLICY The Day Camp registration fee is not refundable After May 15, 2018, no portion of tuition is refundable Additionally, no refund will be granted for late arrival, early departure, withdrawal, or dismissal from camp SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships to Pok-O-MacCready are available through the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation, PO Box 97, Willsboro, NY 12996 Scholarship forms are available upon request in writing, though funds are in high demand CALENDAR OF EVENTS for 2017-2018 Dec 27, 2017 Jan 1, 2018Ski Week July 1 Camp Begins!
