AN INTRODUCTION THE RAMBLERS WAY Let s Ramble Start Walking JOIN US AS WE WALK ENGLAND S SPECTACULAR LAKE DISTRICT, THE EXTRAORDINARY COTSWALDS, SCOTLAND S HIGHLANDS AND ISLANDS WALES AND NOW THE FAMED COAST TO COAST WALK Picture yourself in the most beautiful corner of England. Walk with us as we ramble through the dramatic scenery of England s largest National Park. See the same sublime and beautiful landscape that inspired William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin. Enjoy the comradery of our friendly groups as you walk across timeless hills and dales, past peaceful pastures, rambling stone walls and rose-clad cottages. Let us show you sights spanning 4000 years of history, from a Neolithic stone circle and 2nd-Century Roman defenses to Gothic churches, medieval villages, and Victorian lake cruises. Talks by local experts enhance your appreciation of these wondrous areas of England, Scotland, and Wales. For over 25 years we have specialized and excelled in providing walking and hiking tours, with sightseeing, of some of the most spectacular and idyllic countrysides of Scotland, England, and Wales. Our hiking tours in England are in the Lake District and the charming Cotswolds. In Scotland we ramble through the Highlands and islands off the northwest coast. Our local guides are unsurpassed in experience, knowledge and congeniality and in the earnest desire to ensure that your walking and hiking trip meets, and exceeds, your expectations. Lake District walking tours are offered both as single-hotel based, two hotel based, and in an inn-to-inn format. On these walking tours you will enjoy invigoratingly fresh air, peaceful waters, emerald meadows dotted with sheep, and heather-clad hillsides. You are guided on these seven- and eight-day tours on robust walks and hikes across vales and hills. Sightseeing by minibus rounds out an appreciation of Lake District history and culture. Cotswolds walking trips feature lodging in the heart of this enchanting region. The superbly scenic countryside of rolling meadows and beech forests lends itself to our gentlest series of walks. Steeped in history, the tiny Cotswolds villages of honey-colored limestone with thatched cottages cluster around spired churches. In the north and west of Scotland are the Highlands, Celtic mists and legends, heather-clad hills and sparkling lochs, and a unique mixture of scenic splendor and profound tranquility. English Lakeland Ramblers offers three itineraries in Scotland. Wales lies in the West of the UK, a landscape packed with mountain ranges, lush valleys, a rugged coastline and some charming towns. We walk from the edge of the Black Mountains to the glorious Wye Valley, to the magnificent and wild Pembrokshire coast. NEW - England s famed Coast to Coast walk. We offer this walk in traditional Coast to Coast fashion - from St. Bees to Robin Hood Bay. THE WALKS WERE A GOOD MIX OF GENTLE AND CHALLENGING. SPECTACULAR COUNTRYSIDE AND FASCINATING VILLAGES. THE MEALS WERE DELICIOUS. I ENJOYED ALL THE INNS! THE WHOLE TRIP, DOWN TO THE SMALLEST DETAIL, WAS MORE THAN ADMIRABLY ORGANIZED. 2 CALL US TOLL FREE 800.724.8801 VISIT US AT WWW.RAMBLERS.COM 3

TESTIMONIALS TESTIMONIALS RAMBLING TESTIMONIALS The tour of the Highlands and Isle of Skye was fabulous. I just can t say enough about our wonderful guide, Janet, the accommodation, itinerary, and great group of people. Now I should say thank you very much, for this trip was to me more than sightseeing. I could touch the English way of life not at the surface but, I think, at the core. We are back and singing the praises of our experience in Scotland. Janet was an incredible guide and companion to us all and for me especially who was not the most skilled walker in the group. Her guidance, care and enthusiasm were beyond our expectations. You can add me to your list of testimonials the trip was magnificent and Janet is pure gold always bright, cheery, and knowledgeable. The group was very amicable. We laughed until our sides hurt (within the limits of small Scot hotel propriety). Chris added a delightful dimension to our stay on Harris. He is a first rate guide and a really good guy. He and Janet made a nice team. Our guides were Janet and Anne, and they were exceptional. We enjoyed their knowledge, their positive outlook (we had some really wet weather), and their friendship. Their competence made our tour everything we had hoped for, and more. Thanks for hiring the best. Thank you for a delightful itinerary and flawless execution. I want you to know what a great trip I experienced on the Inn to Inn - Lake District walk I had never been a walking trip before Ramblers. And didn t know quite what to expect. I was so impressed at the seamless way that Janet and Anne directed the group and organized our week. The walks were perfectly timed, we were able to have a leisure morning, have a great breakfast then begin our walks. 24 CALL US TOLL FREE 800.724.8801 VISIT US AT WWW.RAMBLERS.COM 25
