Stretching across the country you will find Hadrian s Wall which once marked the northern border of the Roman Empire. Stop to see this ancient fortification that was begun in A.D. 122 to protect Roman Britain from the tribes of Scotland. Journey to the medieval city of York. Take a stroll through its charming streets to see the famous Minster and walk on the Shambles, a quaint, narrow street that appears today almost as it did during the Middle Ages. Here you ll find great shopping and a street that is so narrow in parts that you can almost reach both sides with your outstretched arms. Tonight, stay within the city s historic walls. (B) Day 8: Saturday, October 15, 2016 York - London Enjoy a leisurely morning to explore York before continuing to London, the cosmopolitan and historic capital of Britain. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to explore this iconic city. This evening, perhaps you will choose to join an optional dinner followed by one of the city s spectacular theater performances.
