SAFETY GUIDE The sites visited during the Trade Awareness Course have specific rules covering visitor access and the following is a general guidance note. General Beware at all times as the sites you will be visiting are working sites with traffic movement taking place. Stay with your guide at all times when visiting sites. Always follow the instructions given by the site guide who is leading your group. Emergency on hearing an alarm make your way to the muster point Report to site contact. Safety Wear/ Personnel Protection Equipment All sites visited will require visitors to wear safety shoes and must bring your own. Hard hats, reflective waistcoats and safety glasses will be provided. Eating and drinking during visits to production and storage sites is not allowed. Dress Code Dress for the weather conditions as you will be outside it does rain and it can be cold. Always wear any safety wear/ personal protective equipment that you are provided with at all times during site visits unless you have been told by your guide otherwise. No shorts, legs and arms must be covered. Mobile Phones, Cameras and Jewellery Phones - Phones should be turned off/ silent during all presentations and visits Use of phones is not allowed on many of the sites we visit and you may be required to leave them at the office or bus. Cameras - Taking of photographs is not allowed without the permission of site contacts. Use of cameras is not allowed on many of the sites we visit and you may be required to leave them at the office. Jewellery - A number of the sites have jewellery policies that will not allow wearing of jewellery (including watches and ear rings). Personnel Conditions, Dietary, Medication and Access Requirements Please inform the organisers at least 5 days prior to a visit of any dietary/ access requirements. No one suffering from intestinal infections or stomach upsets will be allowed on food manufacturing premises. Any exposed cut, sore or abrasion should be suitably covered. Medication products are not allowed on many of the sites we visit. (If it is absolutely essential that medication is carried then please inform the organisers prior to the course and suitable arrangements can be made. Eating or drinking within production and storage areas is not allowed. Smoking Many of the companies we visit do not allow smoking on any part of the sites. Please check with the organiser for location you may smoke.
