We will then continue our walk towards Plaka where we will have some free time for lunch. Our walk continues in Plaka, through Anafiotika and the tower of the winds, to soon arrive in Monastiraki and the famous flea-market. We will walk along Hephaestou street with the numerous little shops before we arrive at the ancient Greek and Roman markets. We will visit the sites including the Stoa of Attalos, and continue on foot along Adrianou street to Thisio area. From here, our coach will pick us up and we will head to Mathimata Magirikis, a cooking club, where we will have the opportunity to experience hands-on, authentic Greek recipes and enjoy our meal. Return to our hotel and rest of the afternoon at leisure. OCT 03 - DAY 03. Day trip to Hydra / Athens (B) After our breakfast, we will be transferred to the port of Piraeus, to catch the local hydrofoil to the unique island of Hydra. After arriving we will have the whole day to explore the mother land of the captains. Hydra is known historically as the birthplace of many famous Greek captains. The island is very small and vehicle free, and that alone creates a unique atmosphere. You can choose to take a donkey ride around the little town, walk in the narrow cobble-stoned streets, visit the Mitropolis (cathedral) and walk to the canons a nice spot at the edge of the little port, on top of a rock, with an old fortification and some canon replicas guarding the entrance of the port. Relax in one of the many cafés and enjoy a lunch in one of the many little taverns. In the afternoon, we will take the hydrofoil back to Piraeus and a return transfer to our hotel. OCT 04 - DAY 04. Piraeus Naxos / Naxos (B) This morning we will check out from our hotel and head to the port of Piraeus to catch the local ferry to Naxos. This is the largest of the Cycladic islands, with stunning beaches and an imposing mountain. Arrival in Naxos and transfer to our hotel. Later in the afternoon, we will gather again and head for our explorations to the castle of Naxos, and lose ourselves in the maze of the fortified old town with its narrow cobble-stoned streets. We will also walk to the famous Portara (big gate), the landmark of the island, a huge marble gate standing at the north of the island s port, the only remain of the unfinished temple of Apollo. Return transfer to our hotel. OCT 05 - DAY 05. Exploring the island of Naxos / Naxos (B) Today, we will be exploring the island of Naxos and its villages. We begin our full-day tour driving to Galanado outside of which rises the Bellonias tower. Our next stop will be Sangri, one of the island s most picturesque villages. The name comes from Sainte Croix (French for Holy Cross), as the nearby monastery was called. We continue to the site of Gyroulas, 4km from Sagri with its restored Temple of Demeter and the monastery of Agios Eleftherios. Our day continues as we arrive at the village of Damalas, to see an old restored olive press, and visit a local traditional ceramics workshop. Further drive will bring us to Halki with its mansions, the Byzantine church of Panagia Protothroni and the citrus distillery (the island is famous for its production of citrus). Our next stop will be to the village of Filoti, the largest of the villages set amphitheatrically on the slopes of mount Zas, the tallest mountain in the Cyclades (1004m). Finally, we will arrive at Apeiranthos. This is probably the most famous of the mountain villages of Naxos, with its marble paved alleys and the 4 small museums (the archaeological

We will have some free time to explore, walk on famous Nomikou street, and enjoy a late lunch on own in one of the numerous local restaurants. Later, we continue our day as we head to the archaeological site of Akrotiri, a whole city unearthed almost intact as it was suddenly covered by volcanic ashes during the great eruption of the volcano. Later, we will be driving to Oia, the most famous village of Santorini, at the northern-most point of the island. We will arrive just on time to explore the village on foot, and find the perfect spot to watch the most famous sunset in the Aegean (weather permitting). After the sunset, return transfer to our hotel. OCT 08 - DAY 08. At leisure (or caldera islands) / Santorini (B) Today will be at leisure for you to relax and explore more of this unique island on your own. Alternatively, we can join an optional cruise to the islands of the caldera. The little boat will take us to the volcano and we will have the time to walk towards the crater. We will then stop by the hot springs with an opportunity for a swim, and finally we will visit Thirassia, a small island away from the noise of Santorini with a picturesque little village. Return back to our hotel for some rest. OCT 09 - DAY 09. Santorini Corfu / Corfu (B) Breakfast in our hotel and at the indicated time we will be transferred to the local airport for our flight (via Athens) to Corfu. Northern Corfu / Corfu (B) Today, we will be touring the northern part of the island of Corfu. We will first head towards Palaiokastritsa, a favorable summer resort with three bays next to each other, the beautiful waters, and the black rock caves. We will also climb a bit higher to visit the monastery of Panagia Theotokos, before we continue to Sidari. Today Sidari is one of the busiest places in Corfu during summer, with beautiful beaches, and interesting morphological formations of caves rocks and water tunnels, with the Love Channel being the most famous one. We continue our driving along the northern coast of Corfu through Roda and Acharavi to Kasiopi, a small port village, full of little souvenir shops, restaurants and bars. Our next stop will be Kalami, a small village that has preserved its old charm, a bit away of the modern world. We are now located on the northeast part of the island overlooking the Albanian mountains. You think that if you stretched your arm you will touch Albania as it is just 2Kms away. Further drive along the east coast of Corfu will bring us back to our hotel. Rest of the afternoon at leisure. OCT 11 - DAY 11. Corfu town, Achillion Palace, Olive oil factory, cooking class / Corfu (B,L) After our breakfast, we will head towards Achillion Palace, probably the most visited site in Corfu. Originally, this was a villa designed for the Empress of Austria Elizabeth (Sissy), and hosts the famous dying Achilles statue in a beautiful gardens overlooking the coast of Corfu. The palace was built between 1889 and 1892 and its name was given by the Empress herself to honor Homer s hero Achilles. Later, it was sold

to Kaiser Whilhem II, Emperor of Germany and King of Prussia. During WW I, it was used as a hospital and during WW II as headquarters of the occupation forces. The location and the beautiful setting are unique, and it was also chosen as a place for some of the scenes of the famous James Bond movie, For your eyes only. We will then continue to a local Olive Oil extracting factory, to see and learn the process of extracting olive oil. After our visits, we will continue to a local tavern where we will experience hands-on, a cooking classe with authentic Greek recipes and of course enjoy a meal with our creations. After our meal, we will head to Corfu town, best seen on foot. The town is built with a mixture of medieval and modern influences. The old and new fortresses bear the insignia of the Venetian Republic - the lion of St. Mark. During the guided tour of the town you will see the Esplanade and the Palace of Michael & George and you will be able to wander through the narrow streets and tiny squares to the church of St. Spyridon, the patron saint of Corfu. We will also pass by the Asian Art Museum which is housed in the Palace of St. Michael and St. George. Return to our hotel for an afternoon at leisure. OCT 12 - DAY 12. Ioannina / Nafpaktos (B) After our breakfast, we will check out of our hotel for a short transfer to the port. We will embark on the local ferry for a short crossing to mainland Greece and to the port of Igoumenitsa. Upon arrival, we will meet with our guide and coach and head to one of the most beautiful cities of Epirus, Ioannina.. The beautiful scenery of Pamvotis lake (Lake of Ioannina) will fascinate you. We will first take a walking tour in the old town of Ioannina, dominated by its fortification, with the unique Byzantine castle from 528 A.C. It thrived during the time of Ali Pasha and was the place where the Greek language and literature was developed. Further walk, will bring us to the lake front and the pier from where we can take a short boat ride to the little island in the middle of the lake. Lush vegetation and picturesque little streets and houses will bring you into a different era. We will walk on the island and explore the little museum of Ali Pasha. We will also see the crypt where he was discovered and killed. You can choose to have your lunch in one of the little restaurants on the island and if you wish, you can try the local delicacy, fried frog-legs! In the afternoon, we will board our coach again and start heading south to arrive in the little town of Nafpaktos for our overnight. OCT 13 - DAY 13. Delphi, Trizonia island, Nafpaktos / Nafpaktos (B,L) In the morning, we will drive on the scenic coastal road along the gulf of Corinth, through Itea, to Delphi which used to be the most sacred spot in the world and a pilgrimage center for many centuries in antiquity. You will admire the Sanctuary of Apollo, walk the Sacred way, and visit the temple of Apollo, home of Pythia (the oracle). We continue to the local museum with the famous bronze statue of the Charioteer. After our visits, we will start heading back towards Nafpaktos. On the way, we will make a small deviation to the seaside village of Glyfada. From here, we will take a 5 minute boat ride to the island of Trizonia. This is a small island, the only island in the Corinthian gulf, in a very picturesque setting. The place is not known to the tourist masses, but it is well known to the Greeks of the area. It is a favorite place for a short day trip and a good meal! We will enjoy a late lunch in one of the few local taverns and feel like Greeks! We can then take a short walk around half of the island under the shade of the lush vegetation to admire the beautiful setting. The little boat will bring us back to Glyfada to board our coach for a short drive back to Nafpaktos. This evening, we strongly recommend to take a walk to the port of Nafpaktos. This tiny port, surrounded by Venetian fortifications is among the most picturesque ports in Greece. You will find a number of little restaurants, cafés and bars to spend your evening, before returning to your hotel for overnight. OCT 14 - DAY 14. Nafpaktos, Kalavrita train ride / Athens (B,D) This morning, we will enjoy our breakfast and check out from our hotel. A very short drive will bring us to the castle of Nafpaktos dominating the whole town, build on top of the town overlooking the whole bay and the amazing bridge of Rio Antirio. We come for the amazing views, which will leave us speechless. We will then continue our drive to cross to the Peloponnese, driving over the unique Rio Antirio bridge, an architectural masterpiece, and the longest hanging bridge in Europe. Driving along the northern shores of the Peloponnese, we will arrive at the village of Diakopto. Another surprise awaits us here. We will be taking a unique in the world train ride through Vouraikos gorge to the mountain village of historical Kalavrita. This is only an one hour ride, however, it will be the most fascinating train ride of your life! The historical train passes under rocks, next to rivers and literally climbs the mountain (it is a cog-train), through stunning scenery that you will remember for a lifetime! We will arrive in the village of Kalavrita, one of the most historical villages in Greece relating to the Greek revolution against the Turkish occupantion. There will be some free time to walk around, explore the village and possibly enjoy a lunch in one of the local taverns. Later, we will continue our drive to arrive in Athens and check into our hotel. After some time to refresh, we will gather again for our farewell dinner experience at Zafiro restaurant, located on a hill with stunning views of the city and some Greek surprises during the dinner. Return to our hotel for the evening. OCT 15 - DAY 15. Departure (B) Morning at leisure until the time to transfer to the airport for our return flight home.
