Day 3 Wellington to Picton to Christchurch Interislander ferry In the morning and after breakfast your taxi will collect you and take you to the Wellington Ferry Terminal. Board the Ferry for your journey to Picton and the South Island. This ferry ride is described as one of the most scenic in the world. En route you can view the South Island and the northern part of the Southern Alps. You travel through a maze of coves and bays on reaching the South Island. On arrival in Picton make your way to the train station (very short walk) to board the Tranz Coastal Train Journey to Christchurch. This train journey is a stunning coastal train journey which hugs the East Coast of the South Island.
