TRAVEL INFORMATION BY ROAD Be prepared: It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with local road rules and abide by them. Most European countries have a list of compulsory equipment that you must take with you. For example, there is a new legal requirement in France to carry a breathalyser in your car. For driving advice and a list of the equipment you ll need, please visit www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/overseas GPS Co-ordinates: E5 35.642, N47 27.011 Directions from Calais: Follow signs to Paris/Reims/Metz (A26 Motorway) - take A26 to Reims - through Reims follow autoroute signs to Chalons-sur-Marne. Then follow signs A26 Dijon/Langres joining A31 just north of Langres. Take exit 6 marked Langres Sud and Gray. Turn right onto D428 - follow signs to Longeau - at Longeau traffic lights follow D67 to Gray. At Gray continue straight in and cross the river bridge - at roundabout on far side of the bridge take last exit (Avenue Carnot - Hotel Au Mastroquet on corner) - take 2nd left near hotel Fer à Cheval - go straight through public car park behind the hotel and Le Boat is on the right. Road distance approximately 570 km - 5.5 hours. Directions from Paris: Take the Auto route du Soleil (A6). Leave at junction signposted Pouilly en Auxois onto A38 to Dijon. On arriving at Dijon follow signs to
Gray on D70. At Gray cross the river bridge and at roundabout turn left, then left again at Hotel le Fer à Cheval - go straight through the public car park behind the hotel and Le Boat is on the right. Road distance approximately 350 km - 3.5 hours. Directions from Besancon: After the second roundabout, take the D67 to Gray. Upon arriving at Gray turn right at the Hotel Le Fer à Cheval - go straight through the public car park behind the hotel and Le Boat is on the right. Road distance approx. 49 km - 50 min. Extra passenger 10 pp. CAR TRANSFERS (FOR ONEWAY CRUISES) If you are doing a one-way cruise (i.e. returning your boat to a different base), we can transfer your car from your departure base to your end base. Our staff are insured to drive your vehicle on your behalf. Car transfers are bookable in advance via our UK sales team. Please bring with you your car registration document and car insurance certificate. For hire cars, you should check with the hire company to see if they will add an additional un-named driver to the hire agreement. All the cars can be transferred except: truck, bikes, motorbikes, camping car and red licence plates. Please contact the sales team for prices. YOUR ARRIVAL BASE OPENING HOURS Sunday to Friday: 09:00-12:30 / 14:00-17:30 Saturday: 08:30-12:30 / 13:30-18:00 WHEN TO ARRIVE: Your boat will be ready to depart for 16:00-17:30. We recommend that you arrive 60 minutes earlier for check-in and instructions. If you have booked an Early Check-in Service, please arrive at the base ready to depart between 11:00 and 12:00 or from 14:00. LATE ARRIVALS: If you are going to be arriving at the base late, you will need to inform the base directly or our UK/IRE sales team. When you arrive at the base there will be a note on the reception door informing you where your boat is. The boat will be left open for you to stay on board that night. The base staff will do the full briefing the following morning. UPON ARRIVAL: Our base staff look forward to welcoming you to their cruising region and aim to make your arrival and holiday as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
When you arrive or base staff will: Take a fuel deposit to cover the fuel you use during your holiday. Any extra fuel used will be charged on your return or we will refund the difference for fuel you have not used. Take a refundable collision damage deposit. This will be refunded if you return your boat and its inventory undamaged at the end of your holiday. The amount collected (and thus your liability) can be reduced by purchasing a Collision Damage Waiver in advance. Please contact our sales team for details. Familiarise you with your waterways guide, maps and other helpful documentation provided to help you plan where you want to go and where you d like to stop. Brief you about your boat, the equipment on board, and the cruising area (places to visit, etc.). Give you a boat handling demonstration on the water with one of our technicians. Outdoor secured parking - 35 per week Garage - 45.50 per week Although free on-road parking is available in Gray, we would highly recommend that you pay for secure parking due to high level of car crime in this area. You can also purchase a licence from the fishing tackle shops across the bridge from the base. MARKET DAYS There is a market every Saturday morning next to the base in Gray until 12:30 YOUR RETURN Your boat should be returned and unoccupied by 09:00 on your last cruising day (or by midday if you have booked a Late Check-out).
