From busy Auckland we ll make our way up to the SCENIC BAY OF ISLANDS, stopping along the way so you can soak in that stunning Northland countryside. This leg of the journey is a chance to kick back in our luxury bus and get to know your fellow travellers let the bonding begin! DAY 2: Bay of Islands Paihia FAMOUS FOR ITS HOLE IN THE ROCK, Paihia is the main tourist town of the Bay of Islands. Today you ll explore the historyrich town and take in the sights or ramp it up with an activity like kayaking, swimming with dolphins, skydiving, paragliding, snorkelling or water-skiing. DAY 3: Paihia Auckland Auckland is NZ s largest city, but we re taking you to the true gem: WAIHEKE ISLAND A SLICE OF PARADISE frequently visited by international celebs. After the 35-minute ferry ride, we ll visit picturesque beaches and taste wine at the finest vineyards. Don t worry: we ll have you back in time to enjoy Auckland s bustling nightlife. DAY 4: Auckland Coromandel You re in for a treat! Today we ll explore the laid back Coromandel area and you ll get up close and personal with CATHEDRAL COVE, AN UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL (AND INSTA- WORTHY) NZ LANDMARK. Snap photos under the impressive rock archways, dive into the turquoise waters or enjoy a walk along the white sandy shores. DAY 5: Coromandel Hot Water Beach It s getting hot in here Get ready to EXPERIENCE ONE OF NZ S BEST NATURAL ATTRACTIONS: HOT WATER BEACH. Find yourself a spot, dig a hole in the sand (by hand or spade) and enjoy your own private natural hot spring spa bliss. When you re done soaking there s plenty of great local cafes and art galleries to check out. DAY 6: Coromandel Rotorua Rich in Maori history, Rotorua is most famous for its underground geothermal activity that causes SPECTACULAR GEYSERS AND HOT SPRINGS. There s heaps to do here check out the boiling mud pools, walk around the lake, walk or bike Redwood Forest, hit the luge or zorb just don t complain about the distinctive egg smell caused by the sulphur! You can even get your Lord of The Rings fix with a trip to Hobbiton. DAY 7: Rotorua Taupo Lake Taupo sits within the crater of the Taupo Volcano. It s the largest freshwater lake in Australasia and roughly the size of Singapore it makes for a THRILLING RIDE ON A JET BOAT! Like heights? Skydiving in Taupo has spectacular views over the Tongariro National Park. DAY 8: Taupo Wellington Today we trek to Wellington, passing the North Island s largest volcanoes on the way. There s no shortage of things to do and see in our quirky capital city. ENJOY WELLINGTON S FUNKY BARS AND CAFES, Te Papa museum, or head to Weta Cave museum for a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of Lord of the Rings. Don t forget to ride the iconic cable car, which ends at the beautiful Wellington Botanic Garden. DAY 9: Wellington Abel Tasman Don t say we didn t warn you about how beautiful this national park is. This little piece of paradise can be explored by kayak, foot, catamaran or water taxi. We ll spend the afternoon exploring the incredible beach and SEA KAYAKING THROUGH THE MARINE RESERVE. Keep an eye out for the cheeky local dolphins or fur seals sunning themselves on the rocks. DAY 10: Abel Tasman After brekky, get your bathers on for a DAY OF SUNBATHING AND CHILLING AT THE BEACH or join us for a hike through the national park and discover why we think this National Park has some of New Zealand s best beaches. If you re lucky you may spot some of New Zealand s native wildlife too, such as the tui and the tuatara. DAY 11: abel tasman - Punakaiki After a brief stop at the stunning Nelson Lakes, we carry on to Punakaiki. Situated on the edge of Paparoa National Park, Punakaiki is a quaint little community which is HOME TO THE FAMOUS PANCAKE ROCKS. Irregular limestone formations offering a dramatic surprise of the natural blow holes. DAY 12: Punakaiki Franz Josef Today we travel through the west coast town of Greymouth before stopping at the Greenstone Capital of New Zealand, Hokitika. After a short stop we travel on to the GATEWAY TO THE GLACIER COUNTRY, FRANZ JOSEF. Time permitting, we ll pop into the National Kiwi Centre after arrival so you can see a wild kiwi of your own. We ll either walk up Bob s Peak to TAKE IN QUEENSTOWN S SPECTACULAR VIEWS or take the gondola up to the luge for one last ride. After that it s time to kick back with a beer, hit one of the local clubs or devour NZ s most famous burger: the Fergburger! DAY 18: Queenstown Mt Cook Today is a good day! We ll head to MT. COOK, THE HIGHEST PEAK IN NEW ZEALAND. We ll explore the amazing beauty of the Tasman glacier, getting so close that you can reach out and touch the century-old ice crystals on the floating icebergs. DAY 19: Mt Cook Christchurch This resilient city has survived devastating earthquakes, yet retains its confident, vibrant culture. Nicknamed The Garden City, Christchurch is a botanic heaven and boasts many eclectic shops to amble around. For those after more intrepid activities, you can HIKE OR MOUNTAIN BIKE YOUR WAY THROUGH CHRISTCHURCH S PICTURESQUE LANDSCAPE. DAY 20: Christchurch Kaikoura Kaikoura is a coastal town known for its abundance of sea life and picturesque outlook, WITH TURQUOISE WATER ON ONE SIDE AND STUNNING SNOW-CAPPED MOUNTAINS ON THE OTHER. A local New Zealand fur seal colony makes for good viewing, but hold your nose! We highly recommend you do a whale watching trip if you re here in whale season (June & July or November to February). DAY 21: Kaikoura Wellington Our next stop: Martinborough. This charming little town is HOME TO SOME OF THE BEST PINOT NOIR IN THE COUNTRY AND EXCELLENT RESTAURANTS to go with it, so make sure to bring your appetite. There are over 20 different wineries for us to explore here, before we venture on to Wellington. DAY 22: Wellington Waitomo FAMOUS FOR ITS ASTONISHING GLOW- WORM CAVES, Waitomo is a must-see. Glide tranquilly into the cave on a boat and gaze up at the unmistakable glimmer of bioluminescent little creatures. These caves are truly magical; it s as if you are looking up at a galaxy full of stars. Waitomo also offers black water rafting and caving. DAY 23: Waitomo Raglan We can t wait to show you Raglan, an enchanting little beachside town with black sand beaches and impressive surf. Manu Bay was actually featured in cult hit movie Endless Summer. We ll ENJOY A DAY STAND- UP PADDLING AROUND THE GORGEOUS CLEAR WATERS of Raglan and surfing its worldfamous long left-hand break. DAY 24: Raglan Auckland It s the last leg of our mind blowing trip today, arriving back in Auckland just after lunch.
