GREEN SYSTEMS - OUR PROMISE TO THE PLANET: ENERGY- The hot water in each room is heated by using top of the line solar panels that provide hot water throughout the whole year. The lighting systems for the gardens and external areas are powered by photovoltaic solar panels. PRODUCTION CHAINS- The Galapagos Islands is currently importing most of the goods and raw materials needed to sustain its population. However, food autonomy is possible, while simultaneously boosting the local economy and further expanding the usage of species endemic of Galapagos such as tomatoes, lemons, and others grow by local farmers. We tend to buy locally produced legumes and fruits, promote reusable storage and transport systems and avoid imported products as much as possible. WASTE MANAGEMENT- From the beginning of the supply chains, we avoid using short lifecycle products, cutting down our waste. All trash is separated and classified, while all organic material is used for the further production of fruit and vegetables. Unique water treatment systems have also been implemented to re-use and maintain the least amount of this limited resource.
