MONASH UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA Monash University is ranked within the world s top 100 universities with campuses in Australia and Malaysia. Established in Melbourne, Australia, more than 50 years ago, Monash was the first foreign university to establish a campus in Malaysia. Being a full-fledged campus of Monash University, it is situated in Greater Kuala Lumpur and approximately 20 kilometers from the city center. STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES AT MONASH UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA Monash University Malaysia welcomes more than 200 study abroad students annually into its community which includes students from the Monash campuses in Australia as well as our partner universities. The university offers an opportunity to explore and learn from a localised Southeast Asian perspective. Credit bearing units available to study abroad students include those that are focused on social issues, research and specialised business areas unique to this region. Malaysian Studies (School of Arts and Social Sciences): Provides a broad overview of Malaysian history, socio-economy, politics and culture. Contemporary feminisms in Asia (School of Arts and Social Sciences): Explores what constitutes feminist knowledges and practices in Asia. Leadership in Asia (School of Business): Provides an overall introduction to leadership with an emphasis on the Asian context. Business in Asia (School of Business): Investigates recent economic developments of selected Asian countries including the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Environmental science: A Southeast Asian perspective (School of Science): Introduces the tropical environments of Southeast Asia from coral reefs and mangrove swamps to lowland rain forests and mountains. The non-credit bearing Intercultural Enrichment Program or Malay Language course is also available to language and cultural enthusiasts who wish to broaden their horizons and learn a new language. Media, power and reporting in Southeast Asia (School of Arts and Social Sciences): Provides a detailed exploration on the workings of media and reporting in Southeast Asia.
SUNWAY CITY Monash University Malaysia is situated in Sunway City, a bustling township that offers a safe, secure and friendly student environment. The township has gained the reputation as a higher education hub, with several universities and private colleges situated within the area.
