The patient suffered a knee injury and was transported to hospital by BCAS. VIR LAND 1 42 1 42 Metchosin, Saanich, and PEMO SAR members responded to locate a missing elderly female in Victoria. The subject was located near Thetis Lake in View Royal, in good condition. SWE LAND 1 23 1 23 Coquitlam SAR members responded to a report of calls for help in the woods near Sasamat Lake. Nothing was found as they believed the subject walked out on their own. LAND 2 6 2 6 Kamloops SAR members responded to locate two lost hikers in McConnell Lake Provincial Park in the Lac Le Jeune area. SAR was stood down while mustering after both subjects were located in good condition. 1 4 1 4 RCM SAR (Shuswap 1) members responded to rescue an injured tube rider on Shuswap Lake. The patient suffered minor neck and back injures and was handed over to BC Ambulance. NEA LAND 2 3 2 2 West Chilcotin and 1 Central Cariboo SAR members responded for a report of a SPOT beacon sounding in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. BC Wildfire Service responded by helicopter and rescued 2 hikers who were in distress, and flew them back to 'The Ranch', where they were to be interviewed by the RCMP NWE LAND 1 11 1 11 Nechako Valley SAR members responded to locate a missing male from the Mapes area near Vanderhoof. The subject was located successfully and handed over to BC Ambulance. SEA LAND 5 5 5 5 Golden SAR members responded to search for a PLB that was sounding in the Dawn Mountain area outside of Golden. The SAR team responded via helicopter and located two adults and three children and successfully brought the group out to safety. VIR LAND 21 21 Salt Spring Island SAR members responded to search for a possible person in distress near Duck Creek on Salt Spring Island. The SAR team was unable to find anything. SWE LAND 1 12 1 12 Pemberton SAR members responded to an RCMP report of a paraglider in distress on Owl Mountain near Pemberton. The paraglider self rescued, while the SAR team was mustering and they were subsequently stood down. SWE LAND 1 1 1 1 North Shore Rescue members responded to rescue an injured eleven year old mountain biker on Mt Fromme. SAR was stood down after it was determined North Vancouver Fire were able to make it up the trail and access the patient without SAR assistance. VIR LAND 1 48 1 48 members from Arrowsmith, Nanaimo, and Comox SAR responded to locate a missing 30 year

SAR located the male and delivered him to the RCMP. 1 8 1 8 North Shore Rescue members responded to locate a 17 year old male with Downs Syndrome last seen by Lynn Creek. The SAR team located the subject in good condition. LAND 1 20 1 20 Shuswap SAR members responded to search for a male inside a vehicle following a motor vehicle incident in Tappen. SAR was stood down when it was determined the vehicle was empty and that the occupant of the vehicle had fled the location. SWE VIR 17 6 17 6 Kent Harrison SAR members responded to a report of an overturned vessel on Harrison Lake. SAR was quickly stood down when RCMP advised all 17 occupants had made it to safety 1 8 1 4 Penticton and 4 Naramata Marine Rescue members responded to locate an overdue kayaker on Okanagan Lake near Summerland. The kayaker returned to the boat launch without any assistance, and the SAR team was stood down. 1 27 1 27 Comox Valley SAR members responded to rescue an injured, stranded female at Nymph Falls near Courtenay. The SAR team successfully rescued the female and delivered her to the waiting BCAS crew. SWE LAND 1 7 1 7 Squamish SAR members responded to locate a lost hiker at The Gondola in Squamish. The SAR team located the hiker in good condition and walked him out of the area to safety. VIR AIR ELT 2 2 PEP Air members responded to a JRCC request to locate an ELT sounding at Spider Lake in Qualicum Beach. PEP Air could not track the frequency of the ELT, so they stood down. VIR LAND 1 9 1 9 Nanaimo SAR members responded to locate an injured hiker down the Nanaimo River Road. The SAR team successfully located, treated, and passed the subject to the ambulance crew for treatment. 1 6 1 6 Kelowna Marine Rescue members responded to rescue a distressed male in Okanagan Lake. The team was able to rescue the subject from the lake and returned him to shore. SWE LAND 1 5 1 5 Whistler SAR members responded to rescue an injured mountain biker on the Comfortably Numb Trail. SAR responded via helicopter and rescued the patient. VIR LAND 1 12 1 12 Nanaimo SAR members responded to rescue a stranded hiker from Mount Benson near Nanaimo. The hiker and his service dog were located and assisted to safety. 3 3 3 3 Kelowna Marine Rescue members responded to a report of a sinking boat on Okanagan Lake near Tribal Point. 3 subjects were rescued after the boat sank VIR LAND 1 21 1 21 Campbell River SAR members responded to perform a high angle rope rescue after a vehicle went over an embankment near Sayward. The

A search of the area was conducted to ensure there were no other occupants thrown from the vehicle on impact. These results were negative. SEA LAND 1 5 1 5 Nelson SAR members responded to search for a missing hiker after he had reported being attacked by a bear. Conservation Officers were contacted to assist with the search. SAR was stood down after the subject self rescued. 10 4 9 1 4 Penticton Marine Rescue responded on June 28th to rescue occupants in a dinghy with ten people on board in Penticton. The subjects were trapped under the bridge due to high water. One swimmer was recovered deceased and the other nine were rescued SWE LAND 1 10 1 10 Mission SAR responded to rescue an injured hiker at Steele Head falls trail. The subject sustained a broken ankle, was rescued by SAR and transferred to BCAS for treatment. SEA 17 7 Cranbrook and 10 Kimberley SAR members responded to locate a female that was last seen struggling in the water at Moyie Falls. The search was ongoing at time of this report. 4 4 Penticton Marine Rescue members responded to locate a possible drowning on the Channel, near Penticton. It was discovered that there was nobody in distress, just a communication breakdown by a bystander. VIR LAND 1 1 1 1 Comox Valley SAR members responded to rescue an injured cliff jumper on a trail from the Comox Lake Campground. SAR was stood down as BCAS was able to access the subject. SWE LAND 1 16 1 16 Surrey SAR members responded to locate a missing twelve year old near Strawberry Hills. The subject was located in good condition at Lonsdale Quay. SWE LAND 1 6 1 6 Whistler SAR members responded to locate a female who sustained a sprained ankle on Garibaldi Trail. The subject was rescued and transported to a medical clinic. SEA LAND 1 10 1 4 Elkford SAR members, 6 Sparwood SAR and 5 PEP Air members responded to locate a missing male who was seen on the Elk River Forest Service Road heading towards Elk Lake, near Elkford. SAR closed down when the subject was not found, pending further investigation. SWE LAND 2 7 2 7 Sunshine Coast SAR members responded to rescue two subjects, injured in an ATV roll over on Mount Drew, northeast of Egmont. The subjects were brought out and handed off to BCAS. LAND 1 5 1 5 Pemberton SAR members responded to locate the subject of a SPOT activation near the Lillooet District. A subject was located and had sustained a lower leg injury. SAR team transported the injured subject to BCAS for treatment. SWE LAND 1 13 1 13 Squamish SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker along Entrail Trail near Squamish. The subject was brought out via basket stretcher and passed to BCAS to provide care.

The subjects were rescued, in good condition and were reunited with their families. SWE LAND 1 13 1 4 Hope SAR and 9 Kent Harrison SAR members responded to rescue an injured 22 year old male ATVer at Caroline Mines near Hope. The subject was rescued and passed over to BCAS for treatment. VIR 1 2 1 2 Powell River SAR responded to locate a missing Jet Skier on Powell Lake near Powell River. The subject was rescued by another vessel and brought to safety. LAND 1 16 1 16 Nicola Valley SAR members responded to locate a missing 3 year old in the Merritt area. The three year old was located and SAR was stood down VIR LAND 1 86 1 5 Extension Fire service swift water team members, 3 Comox, 9 Ladysmith, 9 Cowichan, 35 Nanaimo and 25 Arrowsmith SAR members responded to locate a missing elderly man with Parkinson's in the Nanaimo River road area. The subject was recovered, deceased and turned over to Coroners Service SEA LAND 1 5 1 5 Columbia Valley SAR members responded rescue an injured dirt biker in the Wilmer area. The subject was located and transported to the hospital with several injuries. SWE LAND 1 21 1 11 Kent Harrison SAR members and 10 Chilliwack SAR members responded to rescue an injured teenage hiker who fell off a trail off near the Chehalis River Campsite. The subject was brought out of the area and handed over to BCAS. SWE LAND 1 8 1 8 North Shore Rescue members responded to rescue a female who sustained an ankle injury on Elsay Lake Trail on Mount Seymour. The subject was found successfully and brought to BC Ambulance for treatment. SWE LAND 1 7 1 7 North Shore Rescue members responded to rescue a female with a serious ankle injury in Lynn Headwaters Park. The subject was located successfully and brought to BC Ambulance. SEA 2 6 2 6 Kaslo SAR members responded to rescue two canoers in distress on Kootenay Lake. The subjects were rescued and transferred to BCAS. 0 3 0 3 Kelowna Marine Rescue members responded to a boater in distress on Okanagan Lake. No rescue was required when it was determined occupants were not in distress. VIR LAND 1 8 1 8 Campbell River SAR members responded to rescue a hiker who sustained an injured ankle at Bedwell Lake in Strathcona Provincial Park. The injured subject was transferred to BCAS for treatment. SWE LAND 1 8 1 8 Lions Bay SAR members responded to rescue an injured hiker on Mount Harvey near Lions Bay. The subject was rescued and transferred to BCAS 50 81 608 75 3 3 ELT - 1

WEEKLY INCIDENT REPORT Month July 24-30, 2017 BODY RECOVERY On 26 July 2017, Nelson SAR responded to an RCMP request to perform a body recovery at Crawford Creek Beach in Creston. DANGEROUS GOODS On 27 July 2017, a serious accident involving a semi-truck caused a spill of diesel to enter the Bell-Irving River. The Ministry of Environment Response Officer (MOE RO) raised the incident to a Code 2 (urgent status) due to the severity of the incident. ENVIRONMENT On 24 July, a task was generated to track 2017 Spring Freshet Meritorious Service in response to flooding response in the province. INTERFACE FIRE On 24 July 2017, a task was generated to track 2017 Wildfires Meritorious Service in response to Wildland Interface Fire response in the province. On 25 July 2017, a task number was generated by Emergency Social Services (ESS) in Smithers to open a reception center for processing evacuees due to the wildland interface fires. On 25 July 2017, a task number was generated by the SEA PREOC for monitoring purposes regarding the Verdant Creek Fire N21173 in the Mt Assiniboine Park area. On 26 July 2017, an incident was generated in response to the Monte Lake Wildfire K21375 burning in the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) which resulted in evacuation alerts and orders being issued. On 28 July 2017, an incident was generated by the SEA PREOC to support response to the Nelson wildland interface fire (N71373) burning in the Central Kootenay Regional District (CKRD) near Nelson. On 28 July 2017, an incident was generated to support response to the Bonnington wildland interface fire N71400 burning in the CKRD 15 Km SW of Nelson. On 28 July 2017, an incident was generated to support response for the Harrop Creek wildland interface fire N71382 burning in the CKRD west of Balfour. On 29 July 2017, an incident was generated to support response for the Clinton wildland interface fire K20637 in the Thompson Nicola Regional District that resulted in evacuation alerts being issued for the towns of Clinton, South Green Lake and 70 Mile areas.

On 30 July 2017 an incident was generated in response to a wildland interface fire K20637 burning near North Green Lake which resulted in evacuation order being issued by the Cariboo Regional District. On 30 July 2017 an incident was generated in response to a grass fire burning south of Canal Flats in the East Kootenay Regional District which resulted in a highway 95 closure to support firefighting response. On 30 July 2017 an incident was generated in response to a grass fire N71320 burning in the Rapid Creek area of the CKRD that impacted Poplar creek and Hwy 31.
