JUMPSTART AIR SERVICE DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE MONDAY // JUNE 13 8:00 AM 4:00 PM Registration Colorado Foyer 8:00 AM 8:45 AM Breakfast Colorado Foyer AGENDA 8:45 AM 10:00 AM Welcome and Opening Keynote Justin Meyer Deputy Director of Aviation Marketing and Air Service Development Kansas City Aviation Department Chair ACI-NA Marketing and Communications Committee Kevin M. Burke President and Chief Executive Officer ACI-NA Kim Day Chief Executive Officer Denver International Airport Barry Biffle President and CEO Frontier Airlines 10:00 AM 10:15 AM Networking Break Colorado Foyer 10:15 AM 11:00 AM Glory Lost and Found: How Delta Climbed from Despair to Dominance in the Post-9/11 Era Introduced by Molly Waits, Director of Air Service Development, Houston Airport System. Seth Kaplan Managing Partner Airline Weekly Delta Air Lines, on September 14, 2005, was nothing like the world-beating company it had been just five years earlier, let alone decades before that. On this day, Delta found itself surrounded by lawyers, dejectedly filing for bankruptcy. Few believed it could ever reclaim its perch atop the US airline industry. But it did. Glory Lost and Found: How Delta Climbed from Despair to Dominance in the Post-9/11 Era tells the story of Delta s dramatic tumble into bankruptcy and how it climbed its way back to pre-eminence despite hurricane-force headwinds: high fuel prices, a hostile takeover bid, relentless competition, economic meltdowns and geopolitical shocks. 11:00 AM 12:00 PM Aviation Reporters Perspective Commercial aviation is an exciting and dynamic industry which captivates nearly everyone from those who merely use it as a means of transportation to those of us involved in it professionally. This session brings together some of the leading journalists covering commercial aviation to discuss their perspective on the latest topics across the industry, their vision of the future and how airports can work with journalists to improve coverage of their facilities. Moderated by Ned Russell, Reporter and Columnist, FlightGlobal.
