June 08 th : Lima to Cusco After Breakfast at Lima s Hotel your private transportation and your transfer man will take you over Lima s Airport for boarding a flight to Cusco where your private will be waiting for you for discovering the best of the Sacred Valley of the Incas through this route starting on the Inca's Balcony, a beautiful terrace with an impressive view of Chinchero, where twelves families still preserve their traditional costumes, showing you the ancestral way in which they process the wool, and obtain those vivid colors for their textiles. After your guided tour you will have extra time for discovering this magic place by your own. Overnight: San Agustin Plaza Hotel 3.5 * Standard Room * June 13 th : Exploring Cusco After Breakfast you will spend half a day walking about the city of Cusco, ancient capital of the Incan Empire and where we can see the interesting blend of the Incan and Spanish cultures. The outing begins at the Koricancha Temple, an old Incan palace and main center for the worship of the sun god, Inti. Once the Spanish conquered Peru, the Dominican order built a lovely church over top this temple s foundations: the church of Santo Domingo that is still there today. You will continue on foot to the neighborhood of San Blas, where the finest artisans in Cusco live and work At afternoon time between 1h 30 and 2h and you learn all the steps from harvest of the cacao in a plantation to the production of a chocolate bar. You will roast the cacao beans, peel them and grind them to produce a paste. The glass windows on the Andean Explorer train will let you perfectly observe the beautiful landscape: the train slowly ascends to very high and cold places, around the magníficent Andes mountain range, over the deep Huatanay River valleys. Then, the train goes through the Andean plains, where you can see vicunas and alpacas grazing among the small villages along the road. June 15 th : Exploring Puno Today you will start 2D/1N Experience at Titicaca Lake: Uros Islands + Amantani Island + Taquile Island PVT The trip begins early as you head out of the city of Puno towards the Uros Islands, whose inhabitants are hunters and gatherers and handicraft vendors as well as descendants of the first altiplano residents. After an hour on these particular islands learning about the life of the residents there, you will sail over to Amantani Island, located at an elevation of 4150 meters and whose culture can be traced back to Pre- Incan times. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the family at whose home you will be staying. You will eat lunch there and then visit the Pacha Tata ceremonial center, famous for its mystical energy. You will lodge on the island for the night.. Overnight: Overnight at a local home Meals: Breakfast at Hotel, lunch and Dinner at Local Home June 16 th : Puno to Lima After your breakfast, you will take an hour boat ride to Taquile Island, whose highest mountains are 3950 m. The culture on the island is old, dating back to Pre-Incan times. The islanders still live according to the traditions and beliefs of their ancestors and are world renowned for their lovely outfits and incredible textiles. In fact, UNESCO has declared the textile art of Taquile Island as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. After sharing some time with the islanders and standing in awe of the lake setting, you will return to the city of Puno. Arrival and then you will be transferred back to the airport at the proper hour for your flight back to Lima.
