January February 2018 270 769 5142 or 270 769 5151 Volume 2, Issue 1 Brenda Fullerton United Travelers Coordinator Happy New Year! It s always exciting to kick off a fresh, new year with new opportunities to explore the World! I hope that I have planned, or will soon plan, at least one or two trips on which you can join us. The year of 2017 took us to Africa, Italy, a river cruise, Sedona, and the beautiful parks in Washington State. We ve already held a couple of previews for 2018 trips...greece with its three night cruise, Argentina, Brazil, & Chile, and a Poland and Germany World War II tour. We will also be doing a California Classics tour that includes Yosemite National Park. Then we ll take a bus adventure to Cape Cod and a Lancaster show trip to the Dutch country that will include Philadelphia. We ll even throw in a Mystery Trip along the way. Some of those are later in the year, but we ll soon be traveling to Holly Hill & Midway in February a good day to get out of the house. Inside this issue... Holly Hill & Midway.......2 Brown Hotel & Science Center.....2 Classical Greece....3 Cape Cod, Martha s Vineyard, Plymouth...4 Poland, East Germany, WWII.....5 Lancaster & Dutch Country..... 5 Yosemite & California..5 Brazil, Argen na, Chile...6 Be the irst to know... Don t wait for your newsletter to be printed and mailed get it on the day it s published via email! Contact Kimberly Douglas at 270 769 5151 or Kimberly.douglas@unitedbankky.com to sign up today! We hope you ll think about getting on board with us early in the new year by choosing one of these tours. We sincerely thank you for your past support and look forward to traveling with you in the future!

Page 2 Holly Hill & Shopping in Midway February 28, 2018 Brown Hotel & Kentucky Science Center March 16, 2018 Another one day getaway to get you out of the house! We ll have lunch at the fantastic Brown Hotel, and enjoy (of course) their signature Kentucky Hot Brown, which the hotel created and made famous in the 1920s, with a salad and dessert. This is a beautiful place with old World charm spectacular and stately are just a few terms which are frequently used to describe this venue. Once you re seated you ll know Holly Hill Inn is no ordinary restaurant! Your experience will include white table cloths, elegant napkin rings, Victorian artwork, and a staff that will make you feel that they are glad you re there. For lunch it s your choice of soup or salad, one of three entrees, and a luscious dessert in this special 1845 Greek Revival home. After lunch we ll shop in one of the area s most charming small towns, Midway. Its Railroad Street is lined with lots of great little shops sure to entice us to just browse or make a special purchase (or two or three)! Not to discourage you gentlemen, because you are more than welcome, but I would classify this as a ladies day out. For those in the Frankfort/Versailles area, we will have an additional pickup at our 100 United Drive location in Versailles. Please park on side facing Long John Silvers. Although day trips are sometimes cost prohibitive, we hope you feel like you deserve a treat and come with us! The member price for the day is $80 per person and includes transportation, lunch, and gratuities. We will depart from Elizabethtown at 9:00 a.m. and pick up in Versailles at approximately 10:30 10:45 a.m. From the Brown, we ll travel to the Science Center where you don t just see a movie, but you experience it on Kentucky s only four story precision white screen in 3D digital picture and sound. The theater is sure to leave you in awe as we see Galapagos, about the islands located in the vast Paci ic Ocean paradise like no others. The Galapagos Archipelago is among these fascinating and remote volcanic islands where life has played out over a million years in relative isolation. The result is a wonderland of nature and charismatic animals who have adapted to this unique environment. I think you owe it to yourself to do this one! It s a little pricey, but oh so worth it. The member price is $88 and includes lunch at the Brown, 3D ilm at the Science Center, transportation, tax, and gratuities. We will depart from Elizabethtown Christian Academy at 8:45 a.m., enjoy lunch at 11:00 a.m., and then the movie at 1:00 p.m. We should arrive home somewhere around 3:30 p.m. Please sign up no later than February 23, 2018. Please sign up no later than February 2, 2018.
