Day by Day Itinerary Saturday, Sept. 29 CHICAGO / EN ROUTE (I) Early this afternoon we depart Chicago s O Hare International Airport by scheduled non-stop service on the overnight transatlantic flight to Dublin, Ireland. Sunday, Sept. 30 DUBLIN / GALWAY (I,D) After landing at Dublin Airport your Driver/Guide will welcome you to Ireland. Our day begins with a traditional Irish breakfast at Man O War Pub. Leaving Dublin, we ll stop in Athlone to visit Sean s Bar, the oldest pub in Ireland. Situated in the Heart of Ireland, Sean's Bar plays host to visitors from all around the world, and we ll join the uncountable number of visitors who have been stopping here for a drink, a chat and maybe a bit of music for more than a thousand years. Afterward we ll head out for the city of Galway. On arrival we ll enjoy a panoramic introduction to the city s main sights including the large modern Cathedral of St. Nicholas, set on an island in the Corrib River; Eyre Square; the Old Quays; Spanish Arch; and the Claddagh area, an independent fishing community beyond the city walls. We ll then head out to the coast to our home for the next three nights, Connemara Coast Hotel. Monday, Oct. 1 GALWAY Today we ll begin by traveling along the shores of Galway Bay before stopping in the town of Spiddal for a view of the Aran Islands. Then we re headed to picturesque Kylemore Abbey, a castellated neo-gothic mansion occupied by an Irish Benedictine community of nuns, where we ll have an opportunity to walk the abbey grounds. On our return to Galway, we ll stop in the town of Moycullen to visit the Connemara Celtic Crystal Factory, a family business specializing in designs of the shamrock, the Claddagh ring, and harp, to learn of their time-honored tradition. Tonight we ll enjoy the band s first performance of the tour, an encore at The Quays, one of Galway s most famous and historic drinking establishments for close on 400 years. Tuesday, Oct. 2 GALWAY This morning we depart Galway and travel to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher, a breathtaking sight as they rise to a height of 650 feet from out of the Atlantic. Why not take an optional walk to O Brien s Tower for an impressive view of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. We ll continue our journey, stopping along the way at a working sheep farm where we ll enjoy tea and scones, and watch the sheep dog maneuver the flock. After our visit we ll return to our hotel for an afternoon and evening at leisure. Wednesday, Oct. 3 GALWAY / DERRY (B,D) We depart Galway today and travel to Cong for The Quiet Man Tour, a walking tour with a local guide to see locations from the movie, filmed in the village in 1952. Then we re headed into Sligo, a vibrant coastal town known for its literary and musical heritage, where W.B. Yeats's poetry, prose and drama have always been closely associated. From Sligo, we ll travel through Donegal to the Grianan of Aileach, a hilltop stone fort dating from 1700 BC, where we ll enjoy breathtaking views of three counties and the rugged Donegal coastline. Our final journey will take us to into Northern Ireland and Ireland s only walled city, Derry, also known as Londonderry, and our City Hotel Derry. Thursday, Oct. 4 DERRY / BELFAST (B,D) This morning, we ll enjoy a sightseeing tour of Derry, before heading out for the northern coast of Ireland to enjoy the view of the spectacular Glens of Antrim and Dunluce Castle, featured in the series Game of Thrones. Next we ll explore the Giant s Causeway, a mass of 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns formed over 60 million years ago. The sheer strangeness of this World Heritage Site is the subject of numerous legends, the most popular of which involves the giant Finn McCool, a hardy Ulster hero. Then we ll stop to visit Old Bushmills Distillery, the only operating distillery open to the public, to see how they ve handcrafted Bushmills Irish Whiskey since way back and enjoy a sampling session in the Potstill Bar. Afterward we ll depart for the capital city of Belfast, bustling with stunning scenery, historical landmarks and a vibrant city center. Dennis and band will perform this evening, and we ll be overnight at Europa Hotel the next two nights. Friday, Oct. 5 BELFAST Our day will begin with a sightseeing tour of Belfast. We ll see the grounds of Queens University and travel along the Golden Mile to Donegall Square where we ll see the ornate Victorian buildings that include the Grand Opera House and the Crown Liquor Saloon, before stopping to visit the imposing City Hall. Completed in 1906, the richly decorated interior contains stained glass portraying Belfast s principal industries. Afterward, we ll see both St. Anne s Cathedral and the Albert Memorial Clock Tower, as we make our way out to Shankhill and Falls Road, the main Catholic and Protestant areas that were home to the bloody battle grounds of the Troubles. Today these areas are commemorated with wall murals, memorials and gardens. After the tour we ll head to Titanic Belfast, a fascinating and moving interactive experience. Explore the shipyard, walk the decks, travel to the depths of the ocean and uncover the true legend of Titanic in the city where it all began. Saturday, October 6 BELFAST / DUBLIN (B,L) We depart Belfast and travel south to Downpatrick, where we ll visit Down Cathedral and see the historical burial place of St. Patrick, Ireland s patron saint. Afterward we ll travel to Strangford and experience the

Game of Thrones Medieval Banquet lunch at Winterfell Castle. On arrival we ll be greeted by the Maester, escorted to the Armory & Forge to don our chosen costume, and shown to our banqueting table. With dimly lit church candles, bench seats draped with reindeer skins, smoke billowing from the open fire places, traditional music playing, and everyone dressed in costume, this is sure to be a most memorable experience on tour. Leaving Winterfell, we ll drive to Slane Castle, the residence of Ireland s most famous aristocrat, Henry Conyngham, Earl of Mount Charles. We ll enjoy a tour of the castle, and if time allows, those interested have the opportunity for a whiskey tasting at the Slane Distillery. Then we ll travel into the Republic of Ireland to the capital city of Dublin, where you ll have time to relax and enjoy an evening at leisure, of course with suggestions from Shay. Our Dublin hotel is the Clayton Leopardstown. Sunday, Oct. 7 DUBLIN Our day will begin with an introductory tour of this famous city on the Liffey River. Points of interest include Trinity College, home of the famous Book of Kells; the National Museum; Dublin Castle; and Four Courts built in the 18th century. The remainder of the day is free to explore Dublin pubs and other attractions. Be sure to stroll pedestrian Grafton Street where you ll find energetic street musicians and theater artists, plenty of shopping and some of Shay s favorite pubs. Tonight we ll be treated to the band s final performance in Ireland. Monday, Oct. 8 DUBLIN (B,D) Today we ll enjoy a scenic drive along the coast where we ll see Dalkey and the beautiful Vico Road, home to Enya, Bono, and other Irish notables, as we make our way to Bray in County Wicklow. Our next stop is Powerscourt House and Gardens, a magnificent estate boasting 47 acres of gardens, to enjoy one of the mapped walks and time for a visit to the Powerscourt shops. Afterward, we ll return to Dublin where the afternoon is at leisure, before we enjoy dinner and show of traditional Irish music and dancing. Tuesday, Oct. 9 DUBLIN / LIVERPOOL Today our invasion takes us to Liverpool, England. We ll fly into Manchester Airport where our Driver/ Guide welcomes us as we board our coach for the short drive. We ve allowed time for lunch at Liverpool s famous Albert Docks, the vibrant heart of Liverpool s historic waterfront, and then we ll enjoy an introductory tour of Liverpool before checking in at our Hard Days Night Hotel. After dinner, we ll explore local pubs, clubs and nightlife. Wednesday, Oct. 10 LIVERPOOL (B,D) This morning we ll embark on our own Magical Mystery Tour! We ll see former schools of John, Paul, George and Ringo, the childhood homes of Ringo, George, Paul, John and Stuart Sutcliffe, as well as the former home and school of the Beatles manager, Brian Epstein. We ll discover Penny Lane, the places in and around the area that were significant, including the barber shop and the shelter in the middle of the roundabout that are mentioned in the song. We ll see St. Peter s Church Hall, where John and Paul met for the first time, and of course, Strawberry Fields. We ll explore Mathew Street on foot with our guide to see the many places associated with the Beatles, including the pubs where they went for a drink when the Cavern was a coffee bar and finish the tour at the legendary Cavern Club where the Beatles performed in the early 1960s. Tonight we ll be entertained in the Cavern Club by our very own Dennis O Brien Band! SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING PRICING: The tour price as quoted is based on tariffs in effect for estimated 2018 prices as of December 1, 2017. Tour prices do increase every year, and it is therefore possible that increases could occur after the printing of this brochure in advance of your tour s departure.
