Tuesday, August 28: NEWARK DUBLIN This evening you check in at least 3 hours ahead of your departure time for United flight 23 leaving at 7:30pm. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months past your return date. Dinner and a continental breakfast will be served en route. Wednesday, August 29: DUBLIN ARRIVAL & BELFAST Your arrival time is estimated at 7:05am. Complete customs and immigration formalities before meeting your driver/guide, who will welcome you to Ireland. Upon arrival have breakfast at a local venue with your group. Next, travel via Drogheda to the bustling city of Belfast. Upon arrival set off on a guided tour of Belfast to see the Albert Memorial, the Opera House and Crown Liquor Saloon. In Donegall Square view the imposing City Hall, completed in 1906. The richly decorated interior contains stained glass portraying Belfast's principal industries. After your visit, check into your hotel and enjoy some time to settle into you room. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for dinner in the hotel restaurant. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: GRAND CENTRAL HOTEL, BELFAST Thursday, August 30: TITANIC BELFAST & GUINNESS STOREHOUSE This morning, visit Titanic Belfast so you can embark on a journey through the life of the Titanic, from her conception in Belfast to her tragic end. Next, head south to the spirited city of Dublin so you can tour the Guinness Storehouse. While here, see exhibits on how this world famous stout was first created and why it is also so popular today. Finish your visit in the roof-top bar, where you can sample a draft of Guinness. Transfer to your nearby hotel, check in and enjoy some time to relax before dining on your own. OVERNIGHT: ROYAL MARINE HOTEL, DUBLIN Friday, August 31: DUBLIN HIGHLIGHTS Set off with a local guide who will show you around Dublin. The city has been molded through the centuries with many architectural styles, reflecting the economic, political and artistic influences. Stop to tour St. Patrick's Cathedral, which is almost as old as the city itself and famous for its connections with the brilliantly eccentric Dean Jonathan Swift. Next, visit Dublin Castle, which was the seat of power and government for many centuries. See the State Apartments, where many state functions are held in the richly decorated chambers. Then visit Kilmainham Gaol to see what punishment was like during its years of operation from 1796 to 1924. Learn about political prisoners, especially from the 1916 Rising, detained here because of their efforts to shape Ireland s history. The remainder of the afternoon is free to sightsee and shop. This evening, drive to Taylors Three Rock for dinner followed by a lively show. OVERNIGHT: ROYAL MARINE HOTEL, DUBLIN Saturday, September 1: DUBLIN CLONMACNOISE GALWAY Leaving Dublin, travel to the center of Ireland to visit Clonmacnoise. This monastic settlement was founded in 545 and is delightfully set on the banks of the River Shannon. Learn about the history of the site and take a walk around to see the ancient monuments. Continue to Galway, where you will join a local guide for a gentle walking tour. See the medieval city walls, Lynch s Castle and the narrow streets. Sunday, September 2: ARAN ISLANDS Today, take a short ferry ride from Rossaveal to Inis Mor, the largest of the three Aran Islands. These rocky islands are renowned for the hardy islanders who maintained traditional fishing and farming. The Irish language is still spoken widely. Next, take a minibus ride to Dun Aengus, a huge pre-historic fortress perched on sheer cliffs, which fall away to the Atlantic Ocean below. Have a look around Kilronan before returning to Galway in time for dinner at the Park House Hotel Restaurant. OVERNIGHT: SALTHILL HOTEL, GALWAY Monday, September 3: GALWAY CLIFFS OF MOHER KILLARNEY Departing Galway, drive along the scenic coast of County Clare. Stop to visit the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland s most beloved, natural landmarks. See magical vistas, overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean along with Ireland s Western coastline. Next, take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary before driving to Killarney. Upon arrival check into your hotel and enjoy some time to settle into your room. You may wish to explore some of Killarney before dinner with your group. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: KILLARNEY PLAZA HOTEL, KILLARNEY Tuesday, September 4: MUCKROSS ESTATE AND GARDENS After breakfast, visit Muckross House, an elegant 19th century mansion set beside the tranquil Muckross Lake. Enjoy the elegant rooms and rich furnishings before strolling through the gardens. Head back to central Killarney, where the balance of the day is free to sightsee, shop and dine on your own. OVERNIGHT: KILLARNEY PLAZA HOTEL, KILLARNEY Wednesday, September 5: RING OF KERRY Today, explore the Ring of Kerry 100 miles of marvelous scenery consisting of the highest peaks in Ireland on one side and a coastline scattered with golden beaches and rocky headlands on the other. Enjoy plenty of stops to view the scenery and take photos. Then visit a local farm, where you will get the opportunity to meet a local farmer and to see some sheepdogs work in their natural environment. Continue to Valencia Island by bridge to visit the Skellig Experience which describes the life of early monks who led austere lives on the nearby islands. Return to Killarney, where you will have some free time before dinner at Laurel s Pub. OVERNIGHT: KILLARNEY PLAZA HOTEL, KILLARNEY Thursday, September 6: ADARE VILLAGE AND MEDIEVAL BANQUET This morning, drive to the village of Adare, famous for its attractive main street of thatched houses and colorful gardens. Stroll through the village and take some photos. Next, head to the quaint village of Bunratty and visit the Bunratty Folk Park, which comprises a collection of farmhouses from different regions of Ireland. Also see a 19th century village street with a pub, school, general store and many other buildings where traditional lifestyles and crafts are demonstrated. Then check into your hotel and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. This evening, join in the fun and feasting at Bunratty or Knappogue Castle. Your medieval-style banquet is served in the Great Hall of the 15th century castle. OVERNIGHT: BUNRATTY CASTLE HOTEL, BUNRATTY Friday, September 7: BUNRATTY SHANNON-NEWARK It is time to enjoy your last breakfast in Ireland (this time round) before heading to nearby Shannon Airport in good time to check in for United flight 24 departing at 9:05am. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying across the Atlantic Ocean back to Newark. You are scheduled to arrive Newark at 11:25am.
