June 2014, Ken and Jerry Pennington generously donated Cherokee C-GNUC to the RAA-Local to support and promote new pilots to build hours and stay current. Page 3 of 7

Mission support and promote pilots (women pilots only for C-FLUG) to build hours and stay current. The RAA Club Planes provide pilots economical flying opportunities with: a. Experienced pilot mentors b. Extensive safety systems modelled after commercial industry standards c. Support from aviation organizations (e.g. RAA, 99s, EAA, COPA, SFC) for local and long cross countries d. Increased understanding of elementary maintenance e. Networking with other pilots f. Opportunities to participate in local fly ins, fly outs, bbq s, poker derby, EAA Young Eagles, COPA for Kids and other aviation related events g. Support to transition to own aircraft. Management Manager = Jill Oakes AME = Leon Woychuk Chief Pilots = Donna Prowse (C-FLUG), and Bert Elam (C-GNUC) Check out Pilots = Mark Odegard, Jim Oke, and Murray Bryson Assistant Manager - Treasurer = Karolina Utko Assistant Chief Pilot - Flight Watch = Jessica Biggs The support of RAA and SFC Members has been instrumental in the success of the first year of operating RAA Club Planes. It would have been impossible without this support. Results 15 pilots flew C-FLUG for approximately 200 hours; 3 pilots flew C-GNUC for approximately 50 hours. Private pilots typically have between 60-150 hours total time. No accidents or incidents occurred during our first year of operation. We started C-GNUC with a small group of three pilots for the first few months so we had time to manage possible issues. We are now ready to have more pilots sign on. Two more pilots are getting ready to start flying C-GNUC. One pilot is now operating an aircraft owned by one of her relatives. Three longer cross countries Thunder Bay, Oshkosh, and Regina. RAA Club Plane(s) participated in Shoal Lake COPA for Kids, Manitou Fly In, Lyncrest EAA Young Eagles, Lyncrest COPA for Kids, Oak Hammock Fly In, Carman Fly In, Morden FlyDay Fridays, 99s Poker Derby, Lyncrest Aug BBQ. RAA Club Plane Pilots are members of RAA Local, RAA National, SFC Social Members and 99 s, in addition they have joined COPA and EAA to fly COPA for Kids and Young Eagles and Eagles. Maintenance Leon Woychuk volunteers as Aircraft Engineer for C-FLUG. Leon is also the Aircraft Engineer for C- GNUC and charges for working on the Cherokee. Both RAA planes are now in extremely good condition according to Leon Woychuk. The radio, transponder and encoder recently failed in C-GNUC, a new radio ($1700 including wiring harness and installation) was installed. Replacing the transponder and encoder ($2500) has been postponed till next spring. Winter Operations C-FLUG will have skis installed in February. C-GNUC will have wheel pants removed and will be moved to St. Andrew s airport (YAV) when snow conditions become too soft for Cherokee at Lyncrest. C-GNUC pilots are currently looking for hangar space at YAV for winter use. Page 4 of 7

Insurance Hull ($10,000) and Liability (3rd party + passenger $2M), $1000 deductible in motion $250 deductible not in motion, quote for 2015 from COPA - Gold Magnus = $2,596 + tax Finances Currently planes are borrowed in 10-hour blocks for $20/hr (C-FLUG) and 20 hour blocks for $35/hr (C-GNUC). Plus pilots pay $150 each October for insurance. Currently the C-FLUG account has $7000 and C-GNUC has $4000; however, numerous reimbursements are outstanding and the Treasurer expects to have a complete accounting of the finances by October 31st. Private donations enable us to cover expenses such as C-FLUGs skis and C-GNUCs radio. The Treasurer s goal is to track all donations. 15 pilots are required to cover insurance costs. If we have no further maintenance expenses, we will begin to build our contingency fund in 2015. Testimonials Andrew learned to fly with the Air Cadets program and now volunteers as a Gliding Instructor at Gimli along with his fiancé, Jessica. Many RAA and SFC members met Andrew and Jessica, stacking the winter wood during the Fall Clean Up day at Lyncrest last month. Andrew s been flying C-GNUC since the summer; he s flown EAA Young Eagles and COPA for Kids flights and really enjoys introducing passengers to flying. Flying with Ryne Moody and his girlfriend Brittany Firth. Ryne s Dad got the flight as a birthday gift for Ryne. It was the first time in a small aircraft for both and Ryne showed off some natural flying talent. Thank-you to the Ken and Jerry Pennington for donating C-GNUC. Andrew Fichtner C-GNUC pilot Lindsay Kitson was internationally acknowledged for earning the World Record for First to go Solo in 2013, after starting her flight training immediately following a flight in a small airplane during the RAA and 99 s Women Fly event at St Andrews Airport in March 2013. Since then, Lindsay completed her Private Pilot Licence, now has her tail dragger check out, Night Rating, and has taken some aerobatic training. She is now working on her Commercial licence and plans a Page 5 of 7

career in aviation. Ms. Kitson loves flying the RAA Club Plane, C150, C-FLUG, who she affectionately nicknames The Old Lady. In addition to being a member of the RAA-Wpg, RAA-Canada, Women in Aviation, and Springfield Flying Club, Lindsay serves on the MB Chapter of the 99s International Organization of Women Pilots Executive, manages the local 99s web site, and is the 99s C-FLUG representative. She has taken numerous youth flying through the EAA Young Eagles and COPA Some gorgeous clouds on the way to Kenora for Kids events, as well she has donated flights to take individuals flying in C-FLUG as Western Canada Aviation Museum fund raisers. Thanks to Bill Vandenberg for his generosity in donating C-FLUG for us women to fly. Lindsay First walk around when Karolina took C-FLUG under Her wing in May 2014. Big thanks to Bill Vandenberg for donating C-FLUG for women to build hours and stay current flying locally out of Lyncrest Airport. Karolina was recently voted Captain for the Manitoba Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots and is a member of RAA-Winnipeg, RAA-Canada, and the Women in Aviation International. She has flown C-FLUG since the spring and while working as a Medivac Dispatcher, Karolina is completing her Geography degree at the University of Manitoba, writing her Commercial Written Exam and planning a career in aviation. Thanks to the support from the RAA, Springfield Flying Club and Bill Vandenberg's donation of his C150, C- FLUG, Karolina is able to realize her dream... Page 6 of 7
