Travel Tips The behind the scenes tour of the Grand Ole Opry will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House between April 1st and October 30th. For groups travelling between November 1st and December 15th, the behind the scenes tour will be held at Ryman Auditorium, but will include the same exciting backstage experience as the Grand Ole Opry House. History of the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum The original Country Music Hall of Fame Museum was opened in 1967 on Nashville s Music Row. While the original Country Music Hall of Fame closed its doors in 2000, it didn t take long for it to reopen. In 2001 it opened its new doors just ten blocks away from its original location. Inside the Country Music Hall of Fame The First Three Inductees The Country Music Hall of Fame chose its first 3 inductees long before it opened in 1967. It was announced at the CMA banquet in 1961 that Jimmie Rodgers, Fred Rose and Hank Williams would be the first men inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. Their bronze plaques and thumbnail biographies remained in the Tennessee State Museum until they were moved to the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum in 1967.
