The Itinerary Day 1: Kathmandu 1345m (No Meals) Upon arrival into Kathmandu airport, you will be met by a tour representative and transferred to your hotel. The Tour Manager will meet you at your hotel this evening to brief you on the program during your stay in Nepal. Overnight: Kathmandu (Standard Or Premium Hotel Day 2: Kathmandu City Tour (B) After a good night s rest and breakfast at the hotel, you will set out for a sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu valley (entrance fees not included) which begins in Kathmandu Durbar square, Swayambhunath (Monkey temple) in the morning and sightseeing in Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa in the afternoon. Kathmandu is a wonderful mix of the ancient and the new and this includes western influences that makes visiting the capital an interesting place to spend time, as the old stubbornly jostles for its place with rising attractions from Europe and the west. Some of the sites you visit are UNESCO declared world heritage sites and you will truly enjoy visiting these ancient monuments and learning of its mystic history. Then you will trek out to Tikhedhunga via Birethanti. It is easy trekking, passing through several small villages and settlements. Afterwards you will ascend gently to the final destination of the day. Approximate Distance: 7 km Approximate Trekking Duration: 3 hrs Day 5: Tikhedhunga - Ghorepani 2675m (B,L,D) Today, you will ascend steeply for the first 2 hours and then ascend gently passing through Ulleri and Banthanti. You will see a good view of Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail), Hiunchuli and Annapurna south on the way. Now the trail becomes easy passing through rhododendron and shadowy trees and ascends gently up to the final stop. Approximate Distance: 12 km Approximate Trekking Duration: 7 hrs Day 6: Ghorepani Poon Hill 3180m - Tadapani 2675m (B,L,D) Early this morning you will hike to Poon Hill to enjoy the sunrise view over Mt. Dhaulagiri and other numerous snow capped mountains then hike back down to Ghorepani for breakfast at the Lodge. Continue to trek to Tadapani. Most of the trail you will trek through is rhododendron forest, the beautiful flower makes the jungle colourful in spring when they bloom. The Itinerary Day 7: Tadapani - Ghandruk 1950m (B,L,D) Today is easy trekking, by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. You will hear different kinds of birds chirping on the way. This is one of the popular destinations for birds lovers. Ghandruk is a big Gurung village, there is a handicraft centre and a Gurung museum. Approximate Distance: 9.5 km Approximate Trekking Duration: 3hrs Day 8: Ghandruk Nayapul - Pokhara (B,L,D) Today is your last trekking day and it s a very easy trek, descending gently half of the way through the rice fields and local villages to Syauli Bazaar and then it s flat until Nayapul. Afterwards drive from Nayapul to Pokhara. Approximate Distance: 18 kms Approximate Trekking Duration: 4 hrs Day 10: Chitwan Jungle Activities (B,L,D) After breakfast amidst the sweet chirping of birds, you will set out for a full day of jungle activities that include jungle walking and an elephant riding safari across streams and into the jungles; you will also enjoy watching the elephants bathing and visit the elephant breeding centre. This evening at dinner you will enjoy a scintillating Tharu cultural stick dance.
