Itinerary: Day 01 - Arrival to Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport TIA) (1,350 m/4,450 ft) Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and clearing customs and immigration, you will be welcomed by our personalrepresentative at the arrival zone (we assure you thatour complete team roster at Discovery World Trekking (DWT) is professionallycertified and registered with the government). Our representative will escort you by private transport to our hotel in Kathmandu, centrally and conveniently located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu. Thamel is well known as an exciting tourist hub and has a full range of restaurants and cuisine, gear and souvenir shops, pubs, nightspots and tourist facilities. After resting and refreshing at the hotel, the evening is yours to explore. DAY 02- Full Day Tour, Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing After breakfast, we will embark on a full day of sightseeing around the scenic Kathmandu Valley. You will be accompanied by our personal DWT guide, an expert on the architecture, culture and history of the valley.the day s sights and activities include visits to thesacred, ancient shrines of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath, all still very active. Pashupatinath is one of the world s most important Shiva shrines and a site of cremation for dignitaries. Boudhanath is one of the largest and grandest Stupa in Asia and busy from dawn to dusk with devotees. Swayambhunath, aka The Monkey Temple, is famously perched on a hill overlooking the city. DAY 03 -Drive to Pokhara (820 m/2,690 ft) 200 km west of the Kathmandu Valley - 6-7 hrs We start our scenic drive after an early morning breakfast, traveling by tourist bus out of the valley and along the picturesque Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers. The beautiful scenery along the way includes rivers, terraced fields, villages and sights of the snowy mountains, including Ganesh and Manaslu peaks. Pokhara is a lakeside tourist's paradise with many facilities for travelers.accommodation at Hotel near Lakeside. DAY 04 - Drive to Nayapul (1,050 m/3,445 ft) and trek to Tikhedunga(1,540 m/5,050 ft)- 3-4 hrs After a nourishing breakfast meal, we enjoy a short drive through beautiful landscape on the way tonayapul, our trek starting point. Here we inaugurate our first steps on the trail. The route follows a pleasantly through fertile jungle and terraced fields along a rushing river. We pass through several rural settlements and gradually reachtikhedunga. Overnight at Lodge. DAY 05 - Trek to Ghorepani( 2,860 m/9,385 ft) 6-7hrs This day involves a vigorous ascent as we climb a long, steep series of stone steps on our way to Ghorepani. After the challenging steps wejourney throughscenic villages and timberland. Although a difficult climb, along the way, we can take in astonishing views of the snowy peaks including the Annapurnas, Machhapuchhare, and Hiunchuli. Our destination is Ghorepani, a spectacular settlement located on a ridgeline. Overnight at Lodge. DAY 06 Early morning hike to Poon Hill viewpoint (3,210 m/ 10,525 ft) ¾ hr, then trek to Tadapani (2,630 m/8,630 ft)- 4hrs Today we have an early start of the day as we begin before sunrise to ascend Poon Hill in time to view the sunrise on the Himalaya. The marvelous panoramic view from Poon Hill includes Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, the Annapurnasand much more. After enjoying the views, we return to our lodge for a hearty breakfast,
and then follow a pleasant forest trail through rhododendron and oak groves to Tadapani, anotherbeautiful village with views of the peaks!overnight at Lodge. Please Note: We also have an alternate itinerary for people with more timeand interest that departs from Tadapani for the Annapurna Base Camp Trek. DAY 07 - Trek tojhinudanda(1,780 m/6,393 ft) and nearby natural hot springs-4hrs It is a relatively easy day with a moderate descent through a dense forests and then a magnificent ridgetop. We make our way down through terraced fields and finally cross a roaring river for a short ascent to JhinuDanda. This small village has a nearby, riverside hot springs where we can soak our tired muscles and cares away.overnight at Lodge. DAY 08 - Trek to Nayapul (1,050 m/3,445 ft) 6-7 hrs, and drive to Pokhara(820 m/ 2,690 ft)- 1½ hrs We have reached our final day on the trekking trails. Today we make a pleasant hike along the Modi River as we head down the beautiful valley. We gradually descend through fertile landscape to an ACAP checkpoint and cross the river to Nayapul. We then say goodbye to the trails and make a return drive through picturesque countryside to Pokhara. Accommodation at Lakeside Hotel. DAY 09 - Drive from Pokhara (820 m/ 2,690 ft)to Kathmandu (1,350 m/4,450 ft) - 6-7hrs Today is an early start as we depart by tourist bus for a return to Kathmandu. The 200 km route follows first along the Marsyangdi River and then the Trishuli Rive offering a good look at the natural scenery and farmland. The bus makes one last climb and we are back in the valley of the gods, Kathmandu. Accommodation at selected Hotel in Kathmandu.
