Nepal Annapurna Circuit Trek

Nepal Annapurna Circuit Trek TRIP GRAD MODERAT-HARD DATES: 11th-28th March 2019 DURATION: 18 Days This trek offers fascinating landscape, Bhotia (Tibetan) Buddhist culture mixed with local tradition, high Himalayan pass, panoramic view of Annapurna range, and beautiful villages in Annapurna foothill. We travel by bus to Besishar and follow well-maintained trail through Marsyangdi river valley to Manang. Ascend the steep and often snowy trail that leads to 5335m Thorangla (pass), cross the pass and then descend to Muktinath. The descent continues to Jomsom. Travel to Tatopani (hotspring) and climb the steep trail to Ghorepani. Early morning next day climb Poon hill to see beautiful sunrise view over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna himalayan range. In the last part of the journey we make a gradual descend to Modi khola through thick rhododendron forest and Gurung villages. Instead of taking the trail down along Modi Khola we climb to Naudanda and then to Dhumpus. You will circumnavigate entire massif of Annapurna. The journey pass through Marshyangdi valley, high snow covered pass at Thorangla, deep gorge made by Kaligandaki river and foothill of Annapurna. Low mountain range and tropical vegetation slowly disappear as the journey approaches Manang. Depending upon snow and weather condition you will cross Thorang Pass (5335m) and reach Muktinath (3798m) on the other side. This is the arduous section of the entire trek. Descend and walk through Kaligandaki valley. The ancient trade route brings you in contact with traders from Mustang and Tibet and far beyond. The walk along the ridge in the backdrop of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna is a memorable experience. The journey pass through various ethnic communities. Cultural and religions are as varied as the topography and landscape through which you pass in this journey. FLIGHT INFORMATION Group flights leave from London Heathrow or Gatwick and are booked through Wexas Travel Ltd under ATOL licence 2873. By travelling with The Bucket List Company your finances are protected. Our itineraries are always based on current flight schedules and are therefore subject to change by the airline. TRANSIT STOPS When booking group flights we endeavour to find the best flights that match our itinerary. There are often no direct flights to our destination, so do be prepared for transit stops; bring a good book or chat to your fellow explorers! Airlines that do offer direct flights rarely offer competitive rates for groups. Please remember that the main purpose of our trips is to be reasonably priced. CULTURAL DIFFERENCES AND FOREIGN TRAVEL Everyone wants to travel to have new experiences and our trips are no different. We will let you have new experiences that will push you out of your comfort zone. This is all part of the challenge you are signing up for. The main things you will need to bring with you to gain the most out of your trip are a sense of adventure and a sense of humour, with these in tow you will have a brilliant trip. ACCOMMODATION We will be staying in either hotels, hostels, tents or huts depending on the finalised itinerary. FOOD All meals are included except lunches and evening meals in Kathmandu.

GENERAL INFORMATION DIETARY REQUIREMENTS Being vegetarian or having other dietary requirements is not usually a problem provided you let us know well in advance. If you know there are plenty of foods you cannot eat you may wish to bring extra snacks from home so you can top up your energy supply. PASSPORT, VISA and VACCINA- TIONS You will need a visa to travel to Nepal. To apply for a Nepalese visa in the United Kingdom you should contact the Nepalese Embassy, 12A, Kensington Palace Gardens, London, W8 4QU. Visas are available on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and at some land borders. You can pay in pounds sterling at the airport. Bring two passport-sized photos with you. CLOTHING EQUIPMENT We know what you need! Therefore our equipment list will mean that you will be perfectly attired and outfitted for your whole trip and well under baggage allowance. A full list of what we recommend will be sent to you upon booking confirmation. We find most people already have in their possession what is necessary for a trekking trip and very little else in the way of specialised equipment is required. LUGGAGE Luggage is best carried in a large Kit bag (100 litres+). This makes it easier to find the things you are looking! If you need help and support on what to buy please contact us. We can also sell you the kit you require through our extensive network of suppliers. WEAtHER The best time to hike the Annapurna Circuit is in October, when the monsoon season ends. The heavy rains have cleared the air, making views of the Himalayas especially dazzling. It s also generally a safe time, because the slopes aren t too moist and slippery. And, finally, the temperature is just right, neither too hot nor too cold. Trekking the region in early spring March and April before the monsoon season begins is another good option. The rhododendrons and other flowers are in bloom, decorating the trails in spectacular colors. This is also the warmest time.

GENERAL INFORMATION FITNESS AND SAFETY Safety is our major concern with any trip we run. All of the guides are chosen for their extensive international experience. They each have at least 10 years running expeditions around the world. All have first aid qualifications of the highest standard including at least one medic on each trip. We carry an extensive First Aid kit and Satellite phones with us at all times. There are no special requirements for this trip, except a huge sense of adventure. There are no restrictions providing you are in reasonable physical shape. Medical forms will be handed out in the booking packs for you to let us know of any medical conditions or allergies you have. TRAINiNG WEEKEND You will have a training weekend with a difference, you will and find out more details once you have booked!!
