TRAINING PARTNERSHIPS Training has a collaborative with Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) whereby recruits, selects and trains an agreed number of ATC trainees for zero financial cost to the ANSP. In return the ANSP provides the on job training (OJT) for initial ATC license rating and validation. ATC TRAINING PROGRAMMES Training is certificated as an Air Traffic Training Organisation under the Civil Aviation Regulation Part 141 and European Commission Regulation (EASA) 2015/340. ATC training programmes (regulator approved) that meet the requirements for the issue of an ATC student license, include: ICAO EASA Aerodrome Control Programme ICAO 14 weeks Aerodrome Control Programme EASA 24 weeks ICAO 051 ATS Licensing Subjects 6 weeks EASA Basic Training 12 weeks ICAO 052 Aerodrome Control Area Control Surveillance Programme ICAO ICAO 051 ATS Licensing Subjects ICAO 054 Area Control Surveillance Approach Control Surveillance Programme ICAO ICAO 051 ATS Licensing Subjects 8 weeks 14 weeks 6 weeks 8 weeks 14 weeks 6 weeks EASA Aerodrome Control ADV/ADI (TWR/RAD) 12 weeks Prior to a trainee being enrolled into a funded ATC training programme they must meet ATC selection criteria and the ANSP s OJT placement criteria. WORKING SMARTER TOGETHER Training At no cost to the ANSP, recruits, selects and trains trainees ready for OJT: Ensures appropriate regulatory approved courseware and quality training system Collaborates with ANSP to ensure its requirements are met (selection and training) Advertises the ANSP s OJT opportunity to potential candidates Recruits and selects the number of trainees required by the ANSP using the SureSelect tool and the ANSP OJT entry criteria The ANSP Advises the number of qualified trainees required for OJT per annum Agrees to the training academy advertising the OJT opportunity to potential candidates Participates in the final selection of trainees Accepts and provides OJT to an agreed number of qualified ATC trainees for the achievement of initial ATC licence rating and validation The Trainee Agrees to the terms and conditions of training Pays the training academy course fees Provides a quality competency based training system Delivers the required initial ATC training courses to meet ANSP OJT requirements Motivates and engages trainees through innovative and advanced technology solutions Manages trainee performance to the required standard Increased benefits Access to highly skilled trainees, ready for OJT No cost of selection or training pre-ojt Flexibility to scale up or down with no impact on resources Access to advanced online learning technologies No cost of failure (time, money, effort) as only proven ATC trainees start OJT
AIRWAYS TRAINING CERTIFICATION ATC training programmes have been approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Civil Aviation Authority New Zealand (NZCAA), General Authority for Civil Aviation United Arab Emirates (GCAA), Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (HKCAD), Hong Kong International Airports Authority and General Directorate Civil Aviation Saudi Arabia (GACA). is an active member of ICAO s Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) working group and an ICAO TRAINAIRPLUS member. will work in collaboration with the ANSP and the relevant civil aviation authority to ensure its ATC programmes meet the regulatory requirements relevant to the ANSP. ACADEMIC PATHWAYS air traffic control training provides a range of academic qualification pathways: New Zealand Certificate in Air Traffic Services, Level 5, on achievement of the basic training courses. New Zealand Diploma in Air Traffic Services, Level 6, on achievement of the basic training courses and any two rating courses. Credit towards aviation management degrees at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico and Massey University New Zealand or other aviation universities where articulation agreements are in place. air traffic control qualifications are registered on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework and quality assured by the New Zealand Qualification Authority.
