This is not an actual schedule for this summer, but just a sample from the past. Times and activities vary, depending on the age of the campers. Actual schedules are available to parents on the day of check-in. Camp schedules are created with the age group in mind. Our younger campers have a structured free time in which they rotate to free time activities with their counselors. Our older campers have more freedom to choose which free time activities they d enjoy most. Each day, campers join together for singing and learning. This is a time when they learn more about God and His Word. No matter which camp they attend, we re sure they won t get bored! Campers will stay in the Lakeside Lodges. Each lodge has eight rooms and each room has a bathroom, so the rooms are completely private. Approximately 8-10 campers and one counselor will stay in each room. Our cooks strive to prepare healthy, well-balanced (not to mention delicious) meals, often including a salad and fruit bar. Our cooks prepare alternatives for campers with food allergies. WHAT'S CAMP LIKE?
It can be hard to choose a camp for your kids. Most of our year-round staff members are parents, so we completely understand that sending your child to camp is a huge decision and we take our responsibility very seriously. We don t want anything to distract from the opportunity your child has to learn about Jesus in a fun environment, so taking care of your child s needs is the motivating factor behind everything that we do.
Research tells us that in an average week, a middle schooler watches 2,121 minutes of television and spends 623 minutes at a computer, but only 51 minutes outdoors. We provide a departure from their daily routines and distractions to build lasting memories and teach life lessons that they ll carry with them for years to come. Somerset Beach is a place where kids will be unencumbered by technology and will develop skills and confidence that will serve them forever. CAMP CHANGES KIDS Most importantly, the environment we create at Somerset Beach allows campers to deepen their relationships with Jesus. Through both scheduled and spontaneous activities, and relationships with mature, loving staff (who go through extensive training and background checks), your camper will experience God in a whole new way!
