Find Us On Facebook Paris, TN Henry County Chamber of Commerce From The President From The Executive Director ANDREA LAMB December, December, December! What a glorious, wonderful month! We get to celebrate Jesus birthday. I am not much on just saying Happy Holidays because in my opinion, it s MERRY CHRISTMAS! After all, Jesus is the reason for the season! With this being a month full of celebration going on, you know your Chamber has many events lined up for everyone to have an opportunity to participate. On December 10th, the coffee will be held at the Heritage Center where the Festival of Trees will be held once again. So gather a few people and head out to look at the beautiful trees that our local businesses have decorated. Leadership Henry County will be having their Education day on December 11th. From past experiences from being the bus driver, this is a real eye opening day. I ve only been out of school for 20 years, and my, how times have changed! The Paris Landing State Park will be hosting a Business After Hours on December 12th from 5-7 to celebrate their 75th Anniversary. Last but not least, the 8 mile Over the River Run will be held on December 21st at the State Park. I would like to thank our corporate sponsors, Friends of Paris Landing State Park and Bone & Joint Specialists for supporting this event each year. I have been stopped many times over the past couple of weeks by several appreciative Chamber members regarding our on-going educational campaign, Be Local. This has been a very positive thing the Chamber has kicked off and I am very excited to see where it continues to grow. We have a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/ pages/shop-local-paris-henry-county-tn/576121265787228. Go to the page, like and share the page with your friends! Thank you to the committee members for getting this up and going before the holiday season, you all are great! Have a safe, happy and joyous Christmas & Happy New Year! JENNIFER WHEATLEY Have you seen the Be Local signage around town? Please remember to give our local merchants an opportunity to earn your business this year as you make holiday purchases. It is the best way to keep our tax dollars here, working for us, and to keep our economy strong. Local folks are the ones who support our local efforts and we need to spend here when we can. Our Coffee this month is very early, December 10th, at the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center, for the opening of the Festival of Trees. It is a beautiful display in historic Cavitt Place and has become a fun, local tradition. Groups and businesses decorate trees and they are so creative. Come out and join us. A whole different kind of event is our eight mile Over the River run at Paris Landing State Park on December 21st at 11 am. We have over 140 runners and about 35 of us who cheer them on! Come be part of either crowd! It is fun and exciting to see the runners compete on such a difficult course. It is also a tremendous opportunity to introduce those find folks to our community and invite them to come back! Thank you all for a job I love and the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people. Jen
