Welcome ITV is delighted to welcome you to this public exhibition showing plans for our new London headquarters. The proposals include fantastic new office space and facilities for ITV Studios Daytime programmes, as well as new homes, a new publicly accessible square and the creation of a pedestrian route to the River Thames. Britain s Got Talent Broadchurch The new HQ will give us the opportunity to bring our colleagues, who are presently spread across the capital, together under one roof for the first time. Before we submit a planning application to Lambeth Council, we want to hear your views about our proposed development. Members of the project team are on hand to discuss the plans and answer any questions. Before you leave, we would greatly appreciate it if you would share your thoughts on our plans using one of our feedback forms or by visiting our website. ITV in the community ITV s social purpose is to grow our business in a responsible way, using the reach of our channels to create change for good. Our corporate responsibility strategy has three priorities: People, Planet and Partnerships. Our apprenticeship scheme inspires young people We re proud to hold the Living Wage accreditation ITV was the first broadcaster to hold the Living Wage accreditation and pay the London Living Wage. ITV s London HQ runs on 100% renewable energy. In 2016, ITV contributed more than 48 million through cash, in-kind support and public donations to charitable causes. We re always on the look-out for new talent and since 2010, our award-winning apprenticeships scheme has seen 150 young people come into ITV with 70% securing permanent roles in our business. We helped get the UK up and active with I Am Team GB Our colleagues volunteering for Soccer Aid 2016
ITV s aspirations Having looked far and wide, our search confirmed our commitment to remain in the South Bank cultural quarter. The South Bank is both our home and our heritage and we are prepared to commit significant investment to ensure we can return here for our long-term future, while also delivering wider benefits to the local area. The proposals reaffirm ITV s long-term commitment to Lambeth and specifically the South Bank by enabling: Increased employment in the new global headquarters for ITV. Retention of ITV as part of the cultural quarter on the South Bank with associated studio space. Much improved public realm, including creating a pedestrian access route to the River Thames to the east of the site and a new publicly accessible square. New homes in a high quality residential building. Significant long-term annual financial contribution to Lambeth through business rates. Reduction in HGV traffic to and from the site. Site wide sketch plan
Site history The site is currently ITV s global headquarters. The building contains a mix of studios, production space and offices, used for the commissioning, production, distribution and sale of tens of thousands of hours of high quality television. The London Television Centre (LTVC), our South Bank building, is more than 45 years old and is starting to show its age. It is not suited to a modern working environment and is laid out inefficiently. ITV s family has also grown considerably and LTVC no longer gives us the kind of space, facilities, or collaborative environment that we need. Our colleagues are fragmented across various sites in Central London. A new global headquarters The proposals for our new global HQ, which includes offices and ITV Studios Daytime facilities, will vary in height, ranging from six storeys to 14-storeys and will crucially be large enough to accommodate all our London teams. The redevelopment will provide workspace for ITV employees and production facilities for our ITV Studios Daytime television output, so that live shows and recorded programmes will continue to be filmed in front of studio audiences. Car parking for ITV will be reduced from more than 100 to 20 spaces (including Blue Badge) but supplemented by up to 400 cycle bays. A new square ITV will create an enhanced public realm for our colleagues, visitors, local residents, tourists and passers-by. Artist rendition of new square The scheme delivers an additional pedestrian route from Upper Ground to the River Thames and a publicly accessible square in front of the new entrance on Upper Ground. New homes To enable the redevelopment of the new ITV HQ, we are proposing to build a new residential building in place of the existing office tower that will be delivered with a focus on the highest quality design. The design of the building is still evolving, but is proposed to stand at 38-storeys. Residential entrance along Upper Ground The new residential building will deliver: Circa 270 new homes in a mix of one, two and three bed units. Circa 30 underground car parking spaces, with a majority allocated for Blue Badge holders. Day view from Waterloo Bridge
Site management ITV is committed to producing a long-term, sustainable development that improves upon our current arrangements on site. In a building that will operate using 100% renewable energy, our proposals will also reduce energy use by 35%. In addition, the new site access plan will deliver: A reduction in vehicle entrances and service access points from three to one. A service point away from Upper Ground. A significant reduction in HGV traffic and the overall traffic count. A secure and managed square. Next steps We appreciate the importance of involving our neighbours and have been consulting with various local organisations as we develop our proposals. These discussions have already informed the proposals presented today. Following this public exhibition, we will continue to consult with community groups and local residents, with a view to submit a planning application in summer 2017. We hope that our proposals and the consultation programme leads to a successful outcome and grant of planning permission early in 2018. Thank you for visiting We would greatly appreciate it if you could complete a feedback form before you leave.
