All meetings and dinners will be held at the clubhouse Registration will be at the park office *In order to have Friday s rides we will need at least 15 committed, paid in full riders for the 75 mile ride. We will need your entry and payment in full in the hands of our ride secretary (Eric Rueter) on or before March 15, 2018. If we do not have at least 15 entries and payments for the 75 mile ride, we will have to cancel both Friday rides. If cancellation is necessary, your entry and payment will automatically be applied to Saturday s ride. If you have questions, please give us a call. The entry fee for the 75 mile ride will not be refundable. If you aren t able to ride, you may apply it to either of the Saturday rides. The entry and payment deadline for the 25 mile ride is March 15, 2018. Like us on Facebook to stay up to date on news about the ride Spring Fling at the Sand Hills Trails Trails are wooded, sandy roads and gentle rolling hills. Road crossings have very little traffic. Trails are well maintained and well marked with signs and colored markers on trees. Each distance begins and ends in camp. Camping Please make camping reservations in advance, call H. Cooper Black 843-378-1555. Full hookup sites and primitive sites are available. There are two bath facilities on the premises as well. Base camp will be at the H. Cooper Black Field Trial and Recreation Area in Patrick, SC. This facility is about 13 miles Southwest of Cheraw, SC. Camp opens officially Wednesday April 4, at 2:00 PM. All campsites including primitive camping in the fields must be reserved in advance and paid directly to H Cooper Black. Primitive camping in the fields or in primitive sites behind barn is very reasonable, call 843-378-1555. Please do not call ride management for reservations. Fees subject to change, please ask for rates when you call. CALL EARLY for electric/water hookup sites and pipe corrals. There is also a barn and 2 clean bath houses, dumpster for trash and a dump station. Please call 843-378-1555 for all camping, barn stalls or pipe corrals, etc. Food Supper for Thursday night Pot Luck please bring a dish to share. Supper will be provided Friday and Saturday nights for competitors. Extra meals for either night can be purchased for family and crew at $10 per meal. A light breakfast will also be provided Friday & Saturday mornings for riders and crew at no charge. Awards Completion awards will be given to everyone who successfully finishes the ride. Additional awards such as Best Condition, Top Ten, etc. will also be awarded. Rules Horse, pony or mule must be 60 months old to enter the 75 and 50 mile rides or 48 months old to enter the 25 mile rides. Riders under 16 musst be accompanied by a designated adult sponsor (21 years or older) for the duration of the ride. Approved safety helmets are required for riders under age 16 and strongly encouraged for all riders. All AERC and SERA rules apply. Decisions of vets are final. In order to receive credit for completing the ride, horses must be fit to continue as determined by the veterinarians. The winner of the 25 mile rides will be the first horse whose pulse recovers to 60 bpm. You must present a negative Coggins test (<1 year old), and ALL appropriate membership and registration papers. All dogs must be on a leash (park rule). Warning: Under South Carolina Law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to South Carolina Code Annotated, title 44, chapter 20. Fees Refer to the entry form for the list of fees. Refunds on meal tickets may not be given unless they can be cancelled or sold to someone else. You must mail your entry form and payment in full so that we receive it NO LATER than March 15, 2018 for the 75 mile ride on Friday. All other ride entries with deposit or payment in full must be received no later than March 29, 2018. It is expressly understood by the undersigned that Ride Management, all involved property owners and all ride personnel will not endeavor to make any and all hidden, obvious or potential hazards, but will merely mark the trail to be used. I agree to take full responsibility for the animal that I am riding and myself. I will hold the ride management, all ride personnel, Sand Hills State Forest, H. Cooper Black Field Trial and Recreation Area, the State of South Carolina, and all property owners over whose land the ride crosses blameless for any accident, injury, or loss that might occur due to my participation in the SPRING FLING @ the Sand Hills Endurance Ride. I do hereby for myself and my heirs release and hold harmless ride management, ride personnel, all property owners over whose land the ride crosses, AERC, SERA, their agents, officers, servants, employees and officials, from all claims, demands, actions, and causes of any kind, of injury or death sustained by me or my horse, and damage to my property, incurred during this ride, arising from negligence or any other fault.
