Location: With a location that offers easy access to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks as well as the amenities and recreation of Jackson Hole, T Cross Ranch offers a secluded setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life where family and friends can enjoy the rich splendor of the Rockies. Located in Fremont County, the ranch s driveway is accessed by County, Forest Service and private roads. The ranch is about a two hour drive from the Jackson Hole Airport, which provides daily flights from Denver, Salt Lake, Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles. Serviced by Delta, United and Frontier Airlines, the Jackson Hole Airport is located at the base of the spectacular Teton Range, an awe-inspiring start to the trip to Western Wyoming. The ranch serves as an excellent jumping off point for any number of nearby adventures, including whitewater rafting along the Snake and Wind Rivers, countless scenic hikes, exceptional hunting areas and world-class downhill skiing at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Acreage: T Cross Ranch is comprised of approximately 160 deeded acres. The land is bisected by over a mile of Horse Creek and is completely surrounded by Shoshone National Forest. The terrain varies from irrigated lawns around the lodge and cabins to lush horse pastures and timbered creek banks. Towering pines and quaking aspens cover the entire property providing rich habitat for a host of wildlife. The grounds and meadows are mostly flat, affording easy access to the lodge, cabins, creek and fishing pond. The area surrounding the lodge and cabins is meticulously maintained and manicured tastefully to highlight the natural setting and accent the historical feel of the buildings. Situated in the shadow of Boedeker Butte and Cathedral Peak, the ranch offers spectacular views from the entire property. Image courtesy of Ryn Clark

Guest Ranch Operation: As one of the oldest guest ranches in Wyoming, T Cross has a timeless magic. With a maximum guest capacity of 35, vacation packages have historically included riding lessons (all-day and half-day rides), fly fishing, gymkhanas, hiking, mountain biking, sporting clays, target shooting, swimming, riverside cookouts, family photography and lawn games. Activities include spa treatments, whitewater rafting, museum visits and Yellowstone National Park tours. The ranch owns approximately 30 well-trained trail horses as well as saddles, tack and harnesses for the ranch string, all in excellent condition. Along with the deeded ranch pastures, there is also a Shoshone National Forest grazing lease, which consists of 102 fenced acres and can accommodate up to 60 horses. Although not currently in operation, T Cross Ranch holds National Forest Special Use permits for horseback riding, fishing, hunting and pack trips. These permits can be obtained by an incoming owner.

Improvements: Built in 1928, the Lodge is 2,910 sqft with a tastefully decorated dining room, an impressive river stone fire place in the living room, and a well-designed commercial kitchen. The Lodge is accented with extraordinary western art, impressive wildlife mounts and handcrafted log furniture. With hand-hewn logs and beautiful pine floors, the Lodge is ideal for entertaining, family gatherings, and lends itself well to corporate retreats, seminars and meetings. To complement the Lodge, the ranch has eight beautifully maintained historic cabins. Built between 1918 and 1946, each T Cross log cabin is historic, comfortable and unique. The cabins are fully furnished and accented with western art, rare antiques and handcrafted log furniture. These cozy accommodations all have private baths, stone fire places or antique wood stoves, and covered porches with views of the surrounding peaks. Configured to accommodate two to six guests, the cabins have been carefully maintained over the years to preserve their historic rustic feel. Other improvements include the manager s home, bunkhouse cabins, laundry and ranch office. In addition to the horse facilities, there is a log saddle house, barn and round corral. Generations of fishermen return year after year to access this Class A Stream. Anglers will find rainbow, brook, brown, and Yellowstone Cutthroat trout. Fishing on Horse Creek, anglers are known to catch up to 50 fish in an afternoon. There is also a stocked trout pond for beginners fed by a tributary from Horse Creek. Simply stated the fishing is incredible at T Cross Ranch and in the surrounding Wyoming wilderness!

Hunting: The region surrounding the ranch, known as the Wind River Valley, is home to an abundance of wildlife, especially game animals. This area of Wyoming has attracted people for millennia as a hunting and fishing destination. The ranch lies halfway between the traditional Dubois elk herd winter range, near the East Fork of the Wind River and Spring Mountain, and their summer range, north of Ramshorn Peak to the west. The area is the historic calving ground for this herd. Other wildlife include moose, deer, black bear, grizzly, big horn sheep, wolf, mountain lion, coyote, beaver, and numerous bird species, including bald eagles. Horse Creek supports populations of trout and water birds. Big Horn Sheep live in the surrounding ridges and peaks. Recreational Opportunities: In addition to horseback riding, pack trips and fishing, guests enjoy sightseeing trips to the spectacular scenery of the Continental Divide, as well as Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. World-class white water rafting is available within a short drive on the famous Snake River. The incredible array of recreational offerings within a 1-2 hour drive of the ranch is remarkable: fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, zip-lines, jeep trails, antique hunting in numerous charming mountain communities and more. Rarely are ranches with such rich recreational opportunities available close to the majesty of the Teton Mountains and Yellowstone.

History: T Cross Ranch offers the one thing that most people cannot find in our busy world peace. The tranquility of the T Cross shows the fast-paced, modern world why cowboys of the past loved the life of freedom. T Cross Ranch has operated as a guest ranch since 1918 and very little has changed over the last century. The first Europeans to enter the area were French trappers in the early 1740 s. In the years to follow, the Wind River Valley attracted other fur trappers and hunters through the early 19th century because of the abundant hunting grounds and majestic scenery. In 1920, T Cross owner Henry Seipt promoted the ranch as The Sportsman s Paradise. He personally anointed Dubois the Mecca of all disciples of big game hunters and promised Trout to Please All in Sizes and Numbers and Sheep, Deer and Bear Hunting; Best Fishing in the State. The ranch also maintained (and still does to this day) a satellite hunting camp in Five Pockets, 7 miles to the north, and pack trips catering to fisherman. Favorite fishing sites reamin as Horse Creek, Wiggins Fork and Deacon Lake.

Summary T Cross Ranch is a spectacular and historic 160-acre ranch located 15 miles north of Dubois, Wyoming. The ranch is very well-suited to a variety of uses, ranging from its century-old guest ranch operation to a fishing and hunting lodge, corporate retreat, a base for scientific research, artists and photographers mecca, or a family s private getaway. With more than a mile of Horse Creek bisecting the ranch, anglers will be thrilled with the famous natural population of Yellowstone Cutthroat.
