East Africa 6-20 November 2018 Join Michael on this very special tour as he takes you back to his home country, Kenya. Starting in Nairobi and safari-ing your way through Kenya & Tanzania. Then on to the romantic spice island of Zanzibar to discover Stonetown & the warm Indian Ocean.

Meet your Titch Tour Leaders Tour leading for his favourite tour company, Titch Tours is Michael s main retirement hobby and fun, assisting his daughter Mandi Aliverti. Titch Tours offers regular, fully-escorted tours to exotic destinations, catering for the mature traveller. Michael has been leading tours for over 40 years, starting as early as his University days; that passion is still with him. He is fortunate to have his partner Linda Godlonton accompanying him, assisting him on most of the tours. Michael loves life and seeks at all times to share his love of travel, as well as his travel brand of joie de vivre, with his fellow travellers, who become lifelong friends. Mandi was born practically with a backpack on her back and a head filled with dreams of adventure. Given both her parents working in the industry, it s no surprise that Mandi went on to complete studies in travel and marketing before jetting off to explore the world. She later returned to South Africa where she worked in the family travel businesses Titch Travel & Titch Tours for 12 years before being appointed as MD of Titch Tours back in 2008. In addition she holds the appointment as MD of Travel Concepts, as part of the Concepts Collection Group. Mandi is married to her Italian husband Federico and they have 2 children, Gabriella and Claudio. Mandi promises to share her love of travel and all places foreign!

East Africa November 2018 6 November Depart South Africa Nairobi (2 nights) On your arrival at the Nairobi International Airport, we will be met and transferred to our hotel, we expect a late arrival. 7 November Nairobi B D After breakfast, we will visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage enjoying the opportunity of seeing the orphaned elephant babies and their guardians, a truly memorable experience. We will continue to the Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of the famous Danish author known for her book, Out of Africa. Return to the hotel for dinner. 8 November Narobi Maasai Mara B L D (2 nights) In the morning, we will receive a short briefing before the adventure begins with the drive to the Maasai Mara. There is lots to see on our 5-7-hour drive, passing the inactive volcanoes, Mount Longonot and Mount Suswa, then driving deeper and deeper into the land of the Maasai. On arrival, we will have our first game drive. The Maasai Mara is known for its large wildlife populations and home to the Big Five. 9 November Maasai Mara B L D Today we will have plenty of time for extensive game drives through the beautiful Maasai Mara, including a stop at the Mara River. The Maasai Mara is host to the greatest wildlife show on earth: The Great Migration. Millions of wildebeest and zebras migrate from the southern Serengeti in Tanzania to the savannahs of the Maasai Mara. A safari in the Maasai Mara is a unique experience since many animals call the game reserve home year-round. Once you have seen the Big Five, you might want to turn your attention to the more than 400 bird species living here.

East Africa November 2018 10 November Masaai Mara Lake Naivasha B L D (1 night) After breakfast, there will be enough time for one last game drive in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve before we head towards Lake Naivasha, one of the few fresh water lakes in the Great Rift Valley, while most lakes in this region are alkaline. The shores of the lake are green year-round and a refreshing change from the often dry savanna. We can enjoy zebra, small gazelle and giraffe at the shoreline. 11 November Lake Naivasha - Amboseli National Park B L D (2 nights) After an early start we will drive back towards Nairobi. Leaving the busy city, our journey takes us to the Amboseli National Park, close to the Tanzanian border. This park is famous for iconic images of elephant herds on the plains with snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro in the background, visible on a clear day. Apart from herds of elephants (sometimes as many as 500 animals), we might also see lion, leopard and the rest of the Big Five, keeping fingers crossed. 12 November Amboseli National Park B L D Today we will have the entire day to explore the Amboseli National Park. A dry and hot climate dominates this region. A dusty salt desert of the mostly dried-up Lake Amboseli and grasslands stretch through the park and over the border to Tanzania. The dryness of this area is quite deceptive. Rainwater and water from Kilimanjaro s melting snow peaks flow into the area, creating wetland areas, which attract many animals. A large reservoir of groundwater turns Amboseli National Park into a green oasis in the rainy season. The large fever acacia trees also benefit from this existing groundwater. 13 November Amboseli National Park Tarangire National Park Region B L D (1 night) Today we will continue through the park on your way to the Tanzanian border. After going through customs, you will enter Tanzania where a new safari team will be waiting for us. We will continue our drive towards the Tarangire National Park. In the late afternoon, we will reach our lodge located in a wildlife corridor between Lake Manyara and the Tarangire National Park.

East Africa November 2018 14 November Tarangire National Park - Karatu B L D (2 nights) In the morning we will enter the Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, the savannah and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. The Tarangire National Park is considered as one of the best places to view elephants up close, not only because there are thousands of animals but also because they are not disturbed by the presence of vehicles. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra and wildebeest which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lion. Leopards are seen now and then but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of our safari vehicle we will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals. After a picnic lunch we will leave the park and drive towards the highlands of the Ngorongoro Crater, to spend the night in the Karatu area. 15 November Karatu Ngorongoro Crater - Karatu B L D After breakfast at daybreak we travel back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before we drive down into the crater. The massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25 000 mammals ranging from the Big Five lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard to spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch, we will leave the crater. 16 November Karatu Arusha Zanzibar - Stonetown B L D (1 night) After breakfast, we will leave Karatu and make our way towards Arusha. We will fly Arusha-Zanzibar at midday. On arrival in Zanzibar, we will be met and transferred to our hotel in Stonetown. 17 November Zanzibar Stonetown - Coast B D (3 nights) Morning at leisure on your own to enjoy wandering around the historic Stonetown, visiting the museum and markets and enjoy all the sights and smells. In the afternoon, we will be transferred to the beautiful north-east coast of the island. The next couple of days can be spent at leisure relaxing on the beach, taking long walks, swimming, snorkelling. 20 November Zanzibar Nairobi South Africa B Today we will be transferred back to the Zanzibar Airport. Fly Zanzibar-Nairobi-South Africa.
