Schreiber s quality of life is second to none. The town offers a full range of municipal services and boasts many recreational opportunities for the young and the young at heart, including the Chimo Club for Seniors and numerous hockey clubs and leagues as well as figure skating. We are very proud of two weeklong annual festivals - the Winter Carnival in February and the Heritage Days celebrations in July. In addition, we re very proud to be home for one of Canada s Top 10 Junior A Hockey teams, the Schreiber Diesels! We are located on the shores of Lake Superior, showcased by our newly developed Schreiber Beach and access road. Our heritage is portrayed in our Rail Array attraction in our downtown area. 5 Welcome to the Township of Terrace Bay I would like to extend a warm welcome to you as a visitor or new resident to our community. We are very proud of our small and vibrant community, the way it has changed during the past 60 years and the variety of facilities it offers to both visitors and residents. We invite you to drop in to the Community Centre, the focal point of our municipality where you can enjoy a game of curling or bowling, visit the library, use our facilities for a workout or sauna or obtain information on the variety of activities and services that are available. We are surrounded by lakes and rivers, which offer a variety of boating and fishing opportunities to the sports enthusiasts. In winter, these rivers and lakes become the passageways to wilderness snowmobile trails. Our challenging golf course and ski hill provide an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, in any season. Volunteers are very active in Terrace Bay and enable us to offer a variety of services, including a seniors group, minor hockey and figure skating, as well as many other programmes. Our staff will be pleased to answer any questions you may have or provide information or assistance.
