Non-compliance with this bulletin could result in loss of the rudder if the rudder bearing separates from the mounting structure. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides parts and instructions to remove the NAS1149F0463P Washer that is installed on the lower rudder hinge bolt and install an MS15795-853 Washer. COMPLIANCE MANDATORY. This service bulletin must be accomplished at the next scheduled inspection or within 50 hours of operation, whichever occurs first. Refer to cessnasupport.com. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane batteries. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. D. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 2. Push the rudder to either side. 3. (Refer to Figure 1, Detail A.) Remove the MS24665-151 Cotter Pin and the AN310-4 Nut from the lower rudder hinge. Keep the nut and discard the cotter pin. (Refer to the applicable maintenance manual, Chapter 27, Rudder Control System - Maintenance Practices.) 4. Remove and discard the NAS1149F0463P Washer and replace it with an MS15795-853 Washer. (Refer to the applicable maintenance manual, Chapter 27, Rudder Control System - Maintenance Practices.) 5. Install the kept AN310-4 Nut and a new MS24665-151 Cotter Pin. (Refer to the applicable maintenance manual, Chapter 27, Rudder Control System - Maintenance Practices.) 6. Remove maintenance warning tags from the batteries and the external power receptacle and connect the battery. 7. Make an entry in the airplane logbook that states compliance and method of compliance with this service bulletin. NOTE: This information must be considered an amendment to the Cessna Manufacturer's Service/Maintenance Manual or Instructions for Continued Airworthiness and must be accomplished for ongoing airworthiness compliance as necessary in accordance with 14 CFR Part 43.13.
