Fair report For immediate release 7 June 2017 15th China International Gold, Jewellery & Gem Fair Shenzhen welcomes 8,633 visitors from 63 countries and regions The 15th edition of the China International Gold, Jewellery & Gem Fair Shenzhen (Shenzhen Fair) (http://exhibitions.jewellerynetasia.com/szj/) concluded on April 22 with 8,633 local and overseas visitors passing through its doors over the show s four-day run. It featured a total of 260 exhibitors from around the world in 22,000 square metres of exhibition space. Key figures: The Fair featured 260 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, including Canada, mainland China, Finland, India, Kazakhstan, Korea, Myanmar (Union of), Poland, Sri Lanka (Rep of), Thailand, the United States, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan; The number of visitors from overseas and Hong Kong is 858 this year. The top 10 sources of buyers (excluding mainland China and Hong Kong region) were: 1. India 6. Russian Federation 2. Taiwan region 7. Singapore and the United States 3. Vietnam 8. Malaysia 4. Macau region 9. Korea 5. Thailand 10. Australia Mainland Chinese visitors totalled 7,775 from 27 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of mainland China. The top 5 sources of local visitors were Guangdong, followed by Jiangxi; third were Henan and Hunan; fourth were Hubei and Shandong, while Fujian ranked fifth. China Jewellery Market Innovative Forum 2017 The fourth edition of the China Jewellery Market Innovative Forum was successfully held over the fair s four-day run. The Forum explored the theme Brand Innovation, Craftsmanship Innovation and Technological Innovation in the forms of jewellery parades and knowledge seminars. Over 2,000 guests attended, including international jewellery retailers, as well as local and overseas media representatives. In today s competitive marketplace, industry players need to know the latest technological advances that offer solutions to the challenges in jewellery manufacturing. 19 April The first special event was Xifu International Gold Wedding Jewellery Design Competition 2017 Forum Global Design Institutional Alliance Initiatives Kick-off Ceremony, organised by World Gold Council. It showcased a series of the latest gold wedding jewellery collections. In the second part, representatives from various leading jewellery brands in mainland China shared their views on jewellery design trends. 20 April One Jewelry presented the forum on New Retail Ecology: Reframing International Jewellery Business Scenarios. Mr Li Jun, Chairman of One Jewelry, and representatives of four international jewellery brands shared their new business models and the special features of their respective brands. The speakers included Mr Luca Catucci, MKT Director of LEBEBE; Ms Thu Dieu Thi Pham, CEO of X-JEWELLERY; Ms Rosana Otani, Vice President and Managing Director of CARLA AMORIM; and Mr Franco Pianegonda, CEO and Creative Director of PNG68. The forum gave participants an opportunity to discover new business opportunities with overseas jewellery brands. The Shenzhen Fair and Jewelry Venture Circle meanwhile coorganised a forum on another timely topic: How to Build Your Jewellery Brand with Millennials. The forum invited Mr Jackie Young, Founder of Jewelry Venture Circle as moderator and five renowned experts to share their thoughts and experiences in capturing the millennial market. They were Mr Guo Jin, Internet BU Director of Chow Tai Sang; Mr Jin Shang Yun, Founder of HuaXinSi Jewelry; Ms Queenie Qi, Founder of Sweet Sweet Jewelry; Ms Bobo Cheng, Brand Manager of Myray Gems; and Mr Lin Ye, Director of ALLOVE Diamond. 21 April The jewellery parade had the theme Various Uses of Chip Perfect Combination of Jewellery and Technology was presented by Guangzhou Wenwen Technology Co, Ltd. They successfully launched their brand-new mini smart jewellery chip. This innovative technology brought fresh ideas and encouraged discussion among attendees. 2

The Shenzhen Fair hosted another exciting forum titled The Future is Now Insights on How Implementing Intelligent Jewellery / 3D Printing / Virtual Reality in the Jewellery Industry. The forum featured five technological experts who discussed the latest market trends in using advanced technology in the jewellery sector; they were: Ms Ice Xian, Principal of Guangzhou Dimai Jewelry Training School; Mr Joy Zhao, CEO of Guangzhou Wenwen Technology Co, Ltd; Mr Ren Jin, Professor of School of Gemology, China University of Geosciences; Ms Wang Guang, General Manager of TOMEI Jewellery (Shenzhen) Co, Ltd; and Mr David Xu, CEO of Shenzhen Weidoo High-tech Co, Ltd. The event GZDE Business Conference & Rough Diamonds Auction Sale organised by the Guangzhou Diamond Exchange was well received. It updated participants with the latest developments in the diamond exchange, including its innovative diamond supply channels and processing technology. The GZDE also conducted its first rough diamond sale at the venue. 22 April The Hong Kong Institute of Gemmology hosted a seminar titled Emerging New Era of Fei Cui Design. Speakers included Mr Yen Kwan, General Manager of The Hong Kong Institute of Gemmology; Ms Liu Hai Ou, Teaching Director of The Hong Kong Institute of Gemmology; and Ms Anne Carroll Marshall, Director of The Gemmological Association of Hong Kong. The seminar gave audiences an in-depth understanding of the message and techniques behind every art piece they have chosen. Fei Cui lovers were fascinated by the passion of the speakers. On the pearl front, the Shenzhen Fair and Guangdong Gemstones & Precious Metals Testing Center hosted a seminar on Eyes on Pearls. Mrs Vivi Xiong, Officer, Gemological Institute of GTC shared tips on sourcing and investing in pearls. Visitors Quotes This is my first time visiting the Shenzhen Fair. I met some suitable suppliers. I am very impressed by the quality of exhibitors, especially those who offer rare gemstones. I was able to network with other international buyers and exhibitors. I will come again next year. - Johnny Chalen, representative of Import Kareva, an importer and exporter from Spain I came to the Fair because of the reputation of UBM Asia. I am very satisfied with the pre-fair information provided by the organiser, especially the Factory Visit Programme. The fair organiser promptly replied to my enquiries prior to the fair. It was my first time at the fair. I met some of my target suppliers. I found the special events organised by the organiser very informative. The Factory Visit Programme organised by UBM Asia was excellent; it offered me valuable knowledge about the industry and was an incredible experience! - Christine Chau, representative of ifancy Jewelry, a jewellery retailer from Taiwan region I have been visiting this fair for three years. My objective is to get inspired with the latest designs. I got to preview upcoming trends. The security at the fair and the organiser services are satisfactory. I highly recommend the fair to designers like me. - Zhou Jianxiang, designer of Yi Shi Jie, a jewellery designer from mainland China Exhibitors Quotes This is my first time to exhibit in the Shenzhen Fair. I was impressed by the organiser services and buyer quality. I met a number of target buyers from China and made business with some of them. This is one of the best jewellery trade fairs in China. - Esko Hamalainen, Manager of Spectrolite Finland Ltd from Finland I have been participating in UBM Jewellery Fairs for years, but this is my first time joining the Shenzhen Fair. I am satisfied with the organiser services. This fair offers me the opportunity to meet a wide range of buyers and suppliers. I will exhibit again next year. - Phan Kim Chi, Ann, International Business Development Deputy Manager of Studex USA from the United States A friend and fellow jeweller highly recommended that I participate in this fair. I was able to showcase my products, see other brands and meet buyers from local and international markets. It was exciting to have the chance to interact with the media because it helped us to enhance our promotion. I found UBM s services very professional and impressive, including the security measures. The Shenzhen Fair is an ideal platform for jewellery designers; it enabled me to collect valuable comments and ideas from a wide range of buyers that visited my booth. I will no doubt to exhibit again next year. - Li Xi, Designer of Li Xi from mainland China Positive comments about the Shenzhen Fair from our fellow jewellers and our positive experiences at UBM s Shanghai Fair 2016 encouraged us to join the Shenzhen Fair. We hope to enhance our presence in the Shenzhen jewellery market by exhibiting again in this fair. We met potential buyers chiefly from China; the number is very satisfying.
