Climate The Patagonian Temperate Rainforest is located in Chilean territory, between 38 30'S and 55 30'S latitudes, east of the Andes Mountain range. It s known for its abundance of precipitation year-round and for its temperate summers (reaching 30 C.) This rainy climate is due to the humidity that charges the anticyclonic wind from the South Pacific, which then condenses due to the cold coastal current of Humboldt. When it enters the continent the humidity precipitates until it reaches the Andes, where it dissipates as it collides with the dry winds that come from the Argentinian Patagonia. Physical Difficulty Our 6-day program is organized to give people different alternatives of activities and excursions (the ones included in the itinerary refer to the activities that are included in the program) however, there are several activities for guests to chose from that may be included and used to replace any program activity. Please consult about these options, as this program can be catered to each participant s needs, which is why we believe this program only requires low physical strain. If you have a special condition or some impairment that might impede you from joining us on the program, please consult with our staff before making your reservation in order to avoid future inconveniences. Do Not Forget It s very important to come prepared for both summer and winter on all trips. You should bring (a comfortable backpack for traveling, trekking shoes, a windbreaker (important!), a parka, comfortable pants for walking, a swimming suit, a camera, a flashlight, sunblock, sunglasses, a change of clothes in case of rain, and a hat and/or bandana to protect you from the sun. It s also important to bring cash in case you would like to buy some souvenirs. A lot of the services offered at the Hotel have a system that works with credit/debit cards, however there are no ATMs to withdraw money from, so makes sure to bring some cash in case you want to shop at a local artisanal store.
