Airport Tour Program

Welcome Thank you for your interest in booking a tour at Fort McMurray International Airport (YMM). We are very proud of our facility and look forward to hosting you and your group and showing you the many exciting features of YMM! Some of the highlights include: - Airport operations behind the scenes - Fort McMurray s rich aviation history including artifacts and exhibits - Our Observation Area and Flight Deck - Our airport-wide art program & our award-winning architecture - And more! Please read through the following pages to learn what options are available to you on your airport tour, and how you can make the most of your experience visiting YMM. Requirements and Deadlines 10 business days prior Visiting group to submit completed tour request form (attached). 7 business days prior 2 business days prior Commercial department representative will contact the primary and secondary organizational contacts by email to confirm the date and time of the tour, or to propose alternate dates if necessary. The Commercial department will also send a tour itinerary. Organizational contact must submit the following to the Commercial department representative: Confirmed number of tour guests and arrival times. For Post-Security tours: scanned copies of government-issued photo ID (such as driver s license or passport) for all tour participants, including minors If these items are not received by 2 days prior to the visit date, the Fort McMurray Airport Authority reserves the right to cancel the group tour. Reminders for Visitor Protocol Since this is a working airport, please be sure to stay close to your staff guide during the tour, follow any directions they may give you, and keep discussions quiet in order to be respectful of other travelers and staff in the terminal. Types of Tours Pre-Security Only Our most popular tour option! Group size 1 30 people Organizers should allow for 45 minutes to 1 hour for this type of tour This option is a good choice for groups including minors or other guests who may not have government-issued photo ID (school ID cards do not meet the regulatory requirements) It is also a good option for groups with limited time available, or for very large groups Tour Itinerary A typical tour at YMM would be approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length, depending on enhancements. Arrival Upon arrival, your group will be met by a representative of the Fort McMurray International Airport Tour of Terminal (approximately 45 minutes) May include (subject to operational needs and time constraints): Operations centre Check-in counters Airport wide art program, architecture and building construction information Viewing of Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) security screening Baggage claim area Third floor observation area with aviation history exhibits Q & A Session (approximately 15 minutes) Third floor observation deck Departure Pre-Security and Post-Security This option offers a full viewing of airport operations, both before and after security Group size 1 10 people Organizers should allow for a minimum of 1.5 hours for this type of tour As participants are entering a secure are organizers should be aware that they will be required to provide: - A list of the full names of all tour participants - Scanned copies of government-issued photo ID (i.e. driver s license or passport) for all tour participants (including minors) at least 2 business days before the confirmed tour date YMM Airport Tour Program Page 2

Tour Enhancements Here at YMM we recognize that each group visits us for a unique reason, and so the following enhancements are available to ensure we can tailor the tour to meet your needs. Airport Dining Did you know that YMM has an award winning food and beverage program? Enhance your tour with a stop at one of our great restaurants. We ll be happy to assist you in having your tour group enjoy one or all of the restaurants available at YMM. Airport Fire Hall Visit (Currently Unavailable) YMM takes fire prevention very seriously. Our Fire Services team operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year and is trained to respond to a variety of emergencies that could occur. The Fire Hall is located directly on the airfield, ensuring our firefighters can respond to any aircraft incident in less than three minutes, as outlined by Transport Canada requirements. A visit with our firefighters will provide your group with the opportunity to learn more about the vital role this team plays keeping our passengers and staff safe every day! Phoenix Heli-Flight Visit Phoenix Heli-Flight is a charter helicopter company operating from the Fort McMurray International Airport. Phoenix services a wide variety of industries including exploration, wildlife surveys, utilities, oil and gas, forestry, construction, infrastructure maintenance, corporate transport, general transportation of personnel and freight and wildfire suppression. Phoenix also provides Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) to Fort McMurray and the Wood Buffalo area with their 24/7 dedicated EC135 medevac helicopter. A visit to Phoenix is the perfect addition for any group with a specific focus on aviation. Paper Airplane Toss Perfect for kids of all ages, participants will have the opportunity to create their own paper airplane and see how far it can fly along our mini runway! Careers in Aviation Your group will have the opportunity to learn about the various career options in the aviation industry from the experts themselves. In addition to the obvious career choices such as pilots, flight attendants, and air traffic controllers, a busy airport relies on hundreds of other professionals to operate successfully. Some examples include: - Safety Specialists - Business Development - Marketing & Communications -Ground Handlers -Airline Agents - And more! Please note that tours to the Fire Hall & Phoenix Heli-Flight are subject to availability and are not available on all tours.
