THE ITINERARY Day 1 Australia - Santiago, Chile Today depart from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, *Adelaide or *Perth for Santiago, Chile. Fly with Latam Airlines, Qantas Airways or Air New Zealand (subject to availability). Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Please note: Due to flight times and scheduling some customers may be required to be at the airport the day before (Depart day 0). Overnight: Hotel Solace or similar, Santiago Meals included: In-Flight Day 2 Santiago - Valparaiso - San Antonio - Begin 22 Night Holland America Antarctic & Cape Horn Cruise Today you will drive approx. 90 minutes west towards the coast. Pass through the lush agricultural valley of Curacaví and the Casablanca Valley, renowned for innovative wineries which are producing Chile s top white wines and cool-climate reds. You ll arrive in Valparaíso, one of the first Chilean cities founded by the Spanish. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003 for its architectural and cultural significance, the city is also one of Chile s most interesting. Starting in the downtown sector, you will learn about the history of Valpo and its importance in South American trade and commerce. A century-old hillside ascensores (funicular carriage) will transport you to the top of the city s steep hills, where a labyrinthine maze of streets reveals brightly coloured buildings, bohemian cafes, elegant restaurants, and spectacular views of the harbour below. The tour will lead you on foot through two of the most famous and eclectic neighbourhoods, Cerro Concepción and Cerro Alegre. Named due to the beautiful gardens that adorned the houses of the sector, which in the nineteenth century were inhabited mainly by English immigrants. The tour will conclude after lunch at a local restaurant. Nestled in the hills of the city you will enjoy local cuisine inspired by the fresh seafood, seasonal produce and fine wines available in coastal Chile. After lunch, you will be transferred to San Antonio Cruise Port for a mid afternoon arrival. The cruise departs at 5.00pm. Day 3 At Sea Grab your camera and a great seat on deck for cruising along the southern coast of Chile. Day 4 Puerto Montt, Chile 8:00am to 5:00pm Puerto Montt is a port city in southern Chile s Lake District and is known as a gateway to the Andes mountains and the Patagonian fjords. Day 5 Castro, Isla Chiloe, Chile 8:00am to 5:00pm Castro is Chile s third oldest city in continued existence and the capital of the Chiloé Province in the Los Lagos Region and is a convenient base for exploring the island of Chiloé. If there is one place in Chiloé you could call cosmopolitan, it s Castro, where all the idiosyncrasies and attractions of Chiloé are nicely packaged in the Big City. At times loud and boisterous like some working class towns in Chile, the capital of the archipelago somehow retains its local Chiloé character side by side with a dash of modern development, comfortable tourism infrastructure and a dash of trendiness. In recent years, Castro s culinary scene has evolved from fast-food to foodie-frenzy and the city now boasts enough excellent restaurants to be considered a bonafide culinary destination.

THE ITINERARY Day 6 Puerto Chacabuco, Chile 8:00am to 5:00pm Puerto Chacabuco is a town in Patagonia, southern Chile, known as a jumping-off point for the Aysén fjords. To the northeast is Lake Los Palos, with views of snowy mountains. The forested Simpson River National Reserve, home to cougars, is southeast. The nearby town of Coyhaique has a craft market selling handmade items. Glacier-fed San Rafael Lagoon and the Northern Patagonian Ice Field are to the southwest. Day 7 Chilean Fjords Scenic Cruising Grab your camera and a great seat on deck for cruising along the southern coast of Chile. Day 8 Amalia or Brujo Glacier & Canal Sarmiento Scenic Cruising Your journey along the southern coast of Chile continues. Day 9 Punta Arenas, Chile 6:00am to 6:00pm The southern tip of the South American continent is as fractured as frost crystals, but the inlets, bays, and passages around the Strait of Magellan are home to a million wonders. Punta Arenas is the threshold to them all. Day 10 Ushuaia, Argentina 12:00pm to 8:00pm Ushuaia is commonly regarded as the southernmost city in the world. The windswept town, perched on a steep hill, is surrounded by the Martial Mountains and the Beagle Channel. It s the gateway to Antarctica cruises and tours to nearby Isla Yécapasela, known as Penguin Island for its penguin colonies. Day 11 Cape Horn & Drake Passage Scenic Cruising Today, cruise around the southernmost headland of Chile, Cape Horn, where the Pacific and Atlantic oceans meet. Cape Horn is widely considered to be the most southerly point of South America and marks the northern boundary of the Drake Passage; for centuries it has been regarded as a major milestone by which sailing ships carrying trade goods around the world marked their passage. Cape Horn was noted as the halfway point from England to Australia during the nineteenth century clipper route. The cruise will continue on through the Drake Passage, which is the body of water between South America s Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands of Antarctica. It connects the south western part of the Atlantic Ocean (Scotia Sea) with the south eastern part of the Pacific Ocean and extends into the Southern Ocean and is 800kms wide. Ships in the passage can often sight whales, dolphins and seabirds including giant petrels, albatrosses and penguins. Day 12 At Sea Day 13 The Palmer Archipelago - Antarctic Scenic Cruising Today you will arrive at the first islands in the Antarctic. Enjoy the spectacular scenery as you cruise through the Palmer Archipelago, also known as Antarctic Archipelago, a group of islands off the north-western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. It extends from Tower Island in the north to Anvers Island in the south. It is separated by the Gerlache and Bismarck Straits. Please note: The exact route is subject to both weather and sea

Please note: The exact route is subject to both weather and sea ice conditions. Day 15 Antarctic Sound - Antarctic Scenic Cruising The Antarctic Sound is a body of water about 50km long and from 11 to 19km wide, separating the Joinville Island group from the northeast end of the Antarctic Peninsula. Please note: The exact route is subject to both weather and sea ice conditions. Day 16 Antarctic Scenic Cruising Please note: The exact route is subject to both weather and sea ice conditions. Port Stanley. Here you ll find a coastal town worthy of a jigsaw puzzle. This quaint city is home to quite a small population. Day 19 At Sea Day 20 Puerto Madryn, Argentina 8:00am to 4:00pm Puerto Madryn is an Argentine city on the coast of northern Patagonia. Its sandy beaches and restaurant-lined promenade face Golfo Nuevo bay, where southern right whales breed from May to December. Day 21 At Sea Day 22 Montevideo, Uruguay 9:00am to 6:00pm Resting on the southernmost point of the Rio de la Plata, Montevideo, Uruguay s capital is a charming city. It revolves around the Plaza de la Independencia, once home to a Spanish citadel. This plaza leads to Ciudad Vieja (the old town), with art deco buildings, colonial homes and landmarks. Day 17 At Sea Day 18 Stanley, Falkland Islands 8:00am to 5:00pm Arrive to the capital of the Falkland Islands, also known as Day 23 Buenos Aires, Argentina Arrive at 8:00am Today arrive in Buenos Aires, the cosmopolitan capital of Argentina.
