Once in Argentina, follow a scenic highway up the Argentine Iguazu Park. Visit starts with ample time to visit San Martin s Falls & the Devil s Throat. We will enjoy the traditional circuits in the Iguazu National Park: the Upper Circuit and the Lower Circuit. The Upper Circuit guarantees spectacular panoramic views of the falls. The Lower Circuit will give us a close contact with the falls and surrounding vegetation. Afternoon, embark on a Great Adventure Boat Ride Under Falls and prepare to get wet! Your guide will lead you along the Sendero Yacaratia Trail to a panoramic viewpoint, and reach the Puerto Macuco to board the motorboat. Climb aboard for the ride through the Iguassu River Canyon, and prepare to get soaked as the boat approaches the bottom of the falls. Feel the spray and see the rainbows as water rushes around you. Ideally situated only 10 km from the Iguassu falls, the Iguassu Bird Park is like an extension of the huge Iguassu National Park, with vast aviaries and hundreds of species of birds. Visitors follow an 800m path winding through the aviaries where the birds fly free. Mingle with and photograph hundreds of different native and exotic birds, snakes, caimans, marmosets and butterflies in spacious walkthrough aviaries and trails that wind through the jungle. Itaipu Dam This visit to the largest hydroelectric Dam in the world begins at the Reception Center where audiovisual an is showcasing presented the history of the construction. Visit the power station and observation deck with a panoramic view of the entire dam and the spillway, giving an idea of the dimension of colossal this project. Then, visit the Larco Museum, which holds the finest precious metals collection in Peru. Housed in a royal mansion of the 18th-century, the museum is famous for its gold and silver collection, its erotic archaeological collection, and its pre-colombian art collection. There are over 45,000 objects, all classified by culture and theme in chronological order. We will finish our tour in the modern district of Miraflores, where we will be able to enjoy a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean. Afternoon at leisure. Cuzco, the old capital of the Inca Empire from the 13 th to 15 th century. It is a rich mixture of Inca and Colonial Spanish architecture and nowadays a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. A must-see full day tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas takes you from Cuzco along the Urubamba river valley to the towns of Pisac and Ollantaytambo. Pisac is most famous for its market, where local farmers and craftspeople bring their goods to town to sell and trade. Stroll along the rows of goods, such as handmade creches, alpaca wool sweaters, and carved handicrafts. The tour includes lunch at a local restaurant, and then continues on to Ollantaytambo, the town known for its imposing cliffside ruins built by the Incas. The town is the only one that has been in continuous operation since the time of the Incas. Enjoy a tour of the ruins and breathtaking views of the valley, before checking into your hotel for the evening. Stay at a hotel in the tranquil Sacred Valley, halfway between Cuzco and Machu Picchu. Hotel Costa Del Sol Ramada Cusco 4* or similar DAY 12 (03 May, Thu) CUZCO (B) Cuzco City Walking Tour Discover the fascinating historical and cultural legacy of the Incas in the capital of the Inca Empire on this 4-hour Cusco city walking tour. Visit Korikancha, known as the Temple of the Sun during the Inca Empire, and now is the site of the Santo Domingo Convent. You ll also see the Cathedral, which faces the Plaza de Armas in the heart of downtown Cusco. Then explore the neighborhood of San Blas, known as the Artist s District. This bohemian quarter is home to art galleries, cafes, and several handicraft markets. Ruins Tour Sacsayhuaman is one of the most important Inca sites in Cusco and was most likely a ceremonial center or fortress during the time of the Incan Empire. Embedded in the hillside are gigantic stones that make up the foundation of the site. These stones weigh approximately 300 tons each! The stone walls form a zig-zag pattern, stretching out over the plateau for 300 meters. Fitted together with precision, Sacsayhuaman s stones are an impressive glimpse at Incan stonemasonry skill. Continue on this tour to Q enko, located further on the hillside overlooking Cuzco. Here you can see several intricate stone carvings of important Inca symbols, including the puma. There are also aqueducts and ceremonial altars. From a distance you will see the ruins of Puca Pucara and then visit the Tambo Machay royal baths. DAY 13 (04 May, Fri) CUZCO / JULIACA / PUNO (1N) (B, D) LA2123 CUZ JUL 1110 1205 Transfer to Cuzco Airport for flight to Juliaca before transferring to Puno. Take a boat trip to visit the floating reed islands of the Uros Indians and witness their unique way of life! These islands are made of piles of reeds, an ancient tradition of the Uros. They are descendants of the oldest people of the Altiplano, though the present Uros people have mixed with the Aymara and no pure Uros exist anymore. Hotel Casa Andina Premium Puno 4* or similar DAY 14 (05 May, Sat) PUNO / COPACABANA & SUN ISLAND / LA PAZ, BOLIVIA (2N) (B, L, D) Pick up from your hotel in Puno early in the morning and departure to Copacabana. At the Peru- Bolivia border, you will have to get off the car for the frontier control. Upon arrival, explore the city of Copacabana. This laid-back, easygoing town has plenty to offer visitors, we will visit its Moorish cathedral in the central plaza of the town, as well as the 16th century shrine of "Our Lady of Copacabana", the patron saint of the city. We will then take a motor boat to Sun Island, the legendary cradle of the Incas. Surrounded by stunning landscapes of Lake Titicaca, Sun Island is too hilly to accommodate vehicles, so a network of rocky trails crisscrosses the island. We hike up one of these paths to visit the Pilkocaina Palace ruins and the village of Yumani, from where you will enjoy incredible views of the island. We will have a local lunch (aphtapi). Continue to the iconic Escalera del Inca (Inca Staircase), which begins at a stone fountain (Fuente del Inca) and the fresh spring water flows down channels alongside the ancient 205-step staircase. From here, we catch our boat back to Copacabana. Continue to La Paz, on the way, we will cross the Strait of Tiquina. Hotel Europa 4* or similar DAY 15 (06 May, Sun) LA PAZ (B, L) Your guide will first take you to the Witch Doctor's Market, where herbs, aphrodisiacs, and magic charms are on sale. Also, see the San Francisco Colonial Church, Plaza Murillo, Cathedral, Government Palace, and the National Congress. Walk along the cobblestone Jaen Street, which has kept much of its colonial charm, and have lunch at a local restaurant. Then ride to the Valley of the Moon outside of the city, where rock formations carved by wind and rain create a strange lunar landscape. Here we will also visit a ceramic workshop and watch a pottery demonstration. Finally transfer to the cable car station and enjoy a scenic ride with wonderful views of the city and the surrounding mountains. DAY 16 (07 May, Mon) LA PAZ / SANTIAGO (1N) (B) LA893 LPB SCL 0450 0850 Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Santiago, capital of Chile. On arrival proceed for Santiago city tour. We will begin the tour visiting the historical district, where the construction of Santiago in the colonial era begins, with old buildings like the Metropolitan Cathedral, beautiful construction that combines neoclassical and Bavarian styles of the time. We will continue to the civic district, with ministerial buildings surrounding the presidential palace or Palacio de la Moneda, silent witness of the most important events of our republican history. We continue our tour with a visit to Santa Lucia Hill, which includes attractive spaces such as Castillo Hidalgo and Caupolicán and Neptune terraces. Then we ll go to San Cristobal Hill, where we can appreciate a great panoramic of the city and the imposing statue of the Virgin Mary crowning the top. We can also see the East side of Santiago, a contemporary and vibrant part with its imposing buildings of daring architectural styles that give a stamp of modernity to this great city. Visit its squares and use the elevators to get to the top of the hills and get a picture-perfect image of the Pacific Ocean. Continue to Viña del Mar, known as the Garden City. The Casinos, palaces, and beaches help add to this city's unique character. Admire the Flower Clock, an emblematic symbol of the town, and take some free time to wander on the beach. Transfer to airport for flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, transfer to hotel. DAY 18 (09 May, Wed) BUENOS AIRES (B, L, D) Tigre & North Delta. A short 1.30-hour ride from Buenos Aires towards the north area, entering Buenos Aires province, takes you to a place with zig-zagging rivers, a lush vegetation, and more than 200 bird species: Tigre. Sail through the Parana River delta on a catamaran boat and take in the natural beauty of the area. Learn about the customs and lifestyle of the islanders, with curiosities such as the 'lancha almacén' (grocery boat), which sells goods at a certain time of the day. After lunch, return to hotel. The Perito Moreno Glacier is a spectacle difficult to describe, that fills the visitor with amazement and admiration, even from the first sights several kilometers away on the road. The trip from El Calafate to the glacier is a succession of lakes, streams, woods and snowcapped mountains. Six km before reaching your destination you get to a vantage point with the first panoramic view of the Glacier, widely known as "Curva de los Suspiros" (Sighs Bend). Finally, the road ends in the western tip of Magallanes Peninsula where, with your feet on the ground and the amazing 5 km-high front of the glacier at your side you get to the footbridges to take a closer look at the glacier.
